I sent an e-mail to Adsense about Adlogger and whether is "ok" to use it and this is the reply I got: Now I just do not know what to do.
As long as you don't use anything that modifies Googles Adsense code, there's nothing wrong with using the software. I have used Adlogger for the better part of a year and it does a great job for what it is. Trevor has done well with the program and tries to keep improving it. I have wanted more statistics than what Adlogger would provide and recently I found AdSpyTracker and it's only $9.99! It won't stay at that price for long, but you can get AdSpyTracker for that price if you act quickly. The program is great for $10, easy to setup and install and gives you as much infomation as Adsense Gold did for $97. I've had AdSpyTracker running for the better part of two weeks now and it's great. I am still using Adlogger as well but will probably drop Adlogger entirely very soon.
That's true to some extent with most trackers. Because of the fact of not being able to modify the Adsense code, people are trying to grap snapshots of clicks. They are all relying on feedback from a script that is trying to capture data and it's only so good. Google obvioulsy has the inside track on that market. You still will typically will receive enough tracking info to learn and improve your ad types and placement and with AdSpyTracker you can even track which ad "color" combinations work best over multiple domains if you choose. One tip I found somewhere else on another forum, is to make sure your tracker code is the "last" entry before the closing </body> tag on your page. That seemed to improve my results with any tracker I used but still doesn't capture everything. Experiment with your code placement and see what works for you.
It is useful as it gives you extra information which you would not be able to collect from your channel data.
AS per Google TOS , there is no mentioned about tracking tools. So you can definitely use adlogger or such other tracking tools without worrying for being getting banned. I myself using it since an year.
I have installed it at site but it has a script that logs the content of Advertising. AdLogger http://www.adlogger.org well and installation is stuck "PHP not in Safe Mode (required) Not OK" and it is necessary to make it OK looked at phpinfo () there is Safe Mode - On I realized now php is included in unsafe mode. and decided not to use it anymore.
6 years old thread. I think by now everybody is aware that click tracking is useless. Especially since we can link adsense and analytics account, so we have good information about which pages brings in most revenue. that's enough, do we really need to know which specific ads have been clicked? It's better to use that information to produce more content related to the highest earning pages. The individual ads are not important since advertizers and their budget change every day, every month..
