how does description relate to tv? what value would buyer get from this domain? ask yourself those questions. with that said, .tv really isn't a great extension.
.TV tld is actually the ccTLD of the "islands of Tuvalu" although many people think it is the short form of Television. That being said you may not make much more than $50 for this domain name Description.TV.
excuse me, I meant how does description related to .tv . The funny things about extensions like these, the more brandable than anything else. Check out namebio.com on past sales. Golf.tv - 600k , christmas.tv -32k , film.tv - 65k . So while it is the "islands of tuvalu".. it doesn't really matter. People automatically see .TV and think TV.
Sorry for my ignorance! So a good .tv keyword domain has a lot of potential it seems. I thought the tld was another one of those not-so-good TLDs.
Dude my bad, your not ignorant lol. The problem with domain appraisals, some domains have definite value, but the majority just don't. honestly description.tv isn't a bad domain. Make a site w/ the domain and rewrite some stuff on wiki describing tuvalu. How profitable or how it fair it does in the ranks, is any ones best guess. That's if were looking for something with an ideal fit for the domain.
buying domains is kind of like "which came first the chicken or the egg?" kind of deal. Unless you plan on flipping it, you should have an idea of what you can do with it before buying it. Like I said in the previous post, I think that would be the ideal way to monetize the site. With that said, chances are you don't live there so it may be difficult to add any "real" value to describing a place you don't live in, after all, the majority of your initial readers may be from that region. In my honest opinion, I wouldn't even bother trying trying to build it. But that's just me who doesn't have/or would have any interest writing on a subject that doesn't interest me. Like I said, grab some info from wiki, possibly some "uncopyrighted" images of the place, throw some adsense on there and sign up for a travel affiliate program (sorry, don't have any recommendations). You just need to ask yourself if you're willing to continually post new info on the subject to add value to the reader and get your ranks in the search engines. best of luck!!
Although .tv is a ccTLD, it is treated by Google as a gTLD and has been adopted as that in use. So it's not a totally useless TLD, but description.tv? It's better for channels/shows, or something a bit more genre-specific, e.g. documentaries.tv or similar.
I think this name is suited to the extension as described video becomes more prominent in nort America. I would say this name is a set and forget. Meaning set the price you want and forget about the name until renewal time. Or try a flippa auction Reseller: $50-$100 Hobbyist: $150-1000 End user: $1000-$15000
