    Hi,
I am trying to learn html for more then 3 months. But still can't code well. I have bought some books but it's hard to learn by reading and then code. Friend of mine suggest me to do some web reserch and find online. Not sure how to go ahead. I think will be best to join some good institute for the same or can i learn it online?

I am not sure on what you can find in your local area, but I think a good "live" course would be needed, at least to grasp the basics.

Yes w3 schools is the site to learn from. Otherwise to learn basic concepts well. You have to practice each and every program to make sure you are following all your basic.
You can also learn HTML5 after you master HTML

Try CodeAcademy to grasp some of the fundamentals, and then build your own website. There's no better way to learn than to try it yourself.

Thank you for the Codecademy suggestion. I just signed up and tried it. They start from the very basics, but they give you a smattering of several different languages. It's worth a look.

You might want to try and find lessons on youtube. Type HTML tutorials and there will be some good ones that pop up. Some people learn better by watching video than reading a book and this might help you out.

codecademy is really great; It can get buggy in some browsers but will do the trick for some basic html/css training.

    A good resource is alistapart.com
Nothing really difficult , just so many to learn, HTML, browser compatibility problems, script techniques
    Cannot learn all in advance
Start learning basics of HTML, div layouts, use of css, study the code of sintes with amazing design. The rest you will learn working in pratice solving problems one at time

CodeCademy for sure! I spent many hours watching tutorials on YouTube and I think that helped me the most, but CodeCademy is great and teaches you in an easy-to-understand way. Books are great as well, I would browse through Amazon and find some good books on html and css. The combination of learning by books, CodeCademy and videos will definitely help all the information sink into your brain so you remember everything.

Oh I almost forgot - build templates and gain as much experience as you possibly can! That is the best way to learn HTML/CSS because you need to get used to solving layout problems and the only way to really do that is to build sites and practice.

HTML is pretty easy to learn and fun to do, but HTML is nothing when do not know CSS. I would recommend you to also learn CSS. If you feel difficult in doing so, you can always use CSS frameworks like Bootstrap, foundation etc to build webpage fast. But basic knowledge in HTML and CSS is required.
