Anybody knows how to get payment from Godaddy Auctions if you are a foreigner living outside the United States? If a domain is sold on auction, how to get paid from Paypal?
I don't live outside the U.S., but can't imagine there is an issue? Similarly, paypal isn't the only form of payment.
The taxpayers' form apparently needs to be filled out and requires some social security numbers or something. Not sure how it works.
Oh yeah, they do require that. Log in to your godaddy account associated with the auctions, if you haven't already created a payee account under settings > payment (tab), to so. Check the box, "I am not a citizen of the U.S" and you get... Online submission of taxpayer identification and certification is not available for foreign payees. Please use the appropriate IRS W-8 Form Once completed, please click for a Fax Cover Page and fax the cover page and completed tax form to (480) 275-3996. Alternatively, you may email the completed form to .... Please include the login name and payee name for your account with your fax or email. Looks like some paperwork. Sucks
a quick google search brought up... Taxpayer Identification Numbers Social Security Number SSN Employer Identification Number EIN Individual Taxpayer Identification Number ITTN Taxpayer Identification Number for Pending U.S. Adoptions ATIN Preparer Taxpayer Identification Number "PTIN Note: The temporary IRS Numbers previously assigned are no longer valid. I haven't looked at the forms, but could you substitute that with an SSN number. And if you've ever worked a "real" job, than your EIN would be on a w-2 form or an old pay stub. With all that said, not sure how it works in other countries.
Thanks for the great replies. Trying to get support from Godaddy and see how it goes. They are slow over there
I've sold one domain on GoDaddy (true waste of time their system, won't bother again) and I'm non-US. Didn't have any problems receiving the payment to PP. You just need to let them know you don't live in the US and thus are not required to file any tax information. It has been the same thing for anything online when it comes to US taxes: let them know that you're not US citizen and you're good to go.
