    Hi,

I need some help. :) I use WP in 99% and I have problem to find good alternative for timthumb.
What is my main problem. Facebook share! FB sucks big time! FB don's wish to put image smaller the 200x200 like share thumb and images which I use in themes is 100x100. Now, I need some image resize library which support all formats and main goal is that image 100x100 can be resized to a bigger size and not to use original size like ALL thimthumb alternatives do.

    1. get away from wordpress. custom CMS's are easier to control and customize to your specific needs.
    2. Dude, there are tons of plugins for this. Search the WP plugin site.

Really? You don't see how you're sorta contradicting yourself? First, custom CMS, second, plenty of plugins. If the user can't change the custom cms themselves, the WP approach might be a lot more cost effective than having a custom CMS coded to fit the bare minimum requirements

I didn't contradict anything. I made 2 points. 1 being that custom CMS is better, then again I can code my own at will for free. Since he said he was coding a plugin, I assumed he know how to code a CMS, which is very easy. 2. Don't reinvent the wheel.

Go pick an argument somewhere else.

Cost-effective, being the key word here. Easy to code your own CMS? Well, yes and no. Depending on what needs you have, what design you want, and all that, I'd say you'd need at least 2 weeks of proper coding time to make something workable/decent. Say a month to implement all the features you might want (also because you'll rethink and redo a lot while coding, since you might rethink some of your needs along the way). If you say that you do this as a sole project for say 2 weeks, 10 days of work-time, say 6 hours each day, that's gonna cost you (and now I'm only counting the pure payment for each hour) about $5000 - which is pretty expensive compared to maybe 3-4 hours of searching through and configuring some WP-plugins... - this is of course also not counting that that is what you would lose by not actually working a paid job those hours, that's just the hourly wage times 60 - you'll also need to provide actual paid work in the same timeframe, so say half that, 30 hours, is still $2500...
Depending on where in the world you're situated, paying (or not earning) that much for something you can usually get a better option for free (like WP) is not very good common sense.
As you said, why reinvent the wheel, when there's plenty of wheels already?

^LOL..... Yet you're telling him to create his own CMS ??? You seem to have a thing for being contradicting.
