Hi everyone, I would like to start a discussion on the best source of traffic. Many people talk abut free traffic from Google, but after years of working in SEO, I now realise that there is no such things as free traffic. The cost of services, software, sites, or tools that are required to get you into the top spot on Google, cost a lot and possibly more than going out and paying for a PPC campaign, or running an email marketing campaign. So my question for you all is.... what do you think is the most cost effective way of generating traffic? What has been your own experience in getting the best ROI in the area of online marketing? Looking forward to your thoughts and comments. Graham
Hi Graham, The following works best for me SEO Paid Avertising Social Media Traffic I basically love Social Media traffic as it is free and covert well as well.
Best source of traffic is search engine only. Social network is best for shopping websites but most of the country started block social network.
In my opinion, here in the US, nothing beats craigslist. Instant, real, free or really affordable traffic. For instance, an employer posts a job for $25 in New York. In a day that employer can get over 5k in ad views with hundreds of people applying for that job. Speaking of being effective! If I was in charge of Google, I'd make a classifieds (something like GoogleAds.com). I don't know why somebody at Google never thought of that. I mean, they're trying to compete with FB using G+ even though that venture is not all that successful. If Google makes a Google classified site, it will become an instant hit. And it will probably kill off all other classifieds in the process.
Really depends on the content in my opinion. If it's a really competitive area you might be better off focusing on social media. However, if it's a niche area then getting to the top in google may not be as hard and worth the effort you'd put in. Then again, I've got a photographer friend who does well just through social media. He doesn't care about competitive seo or not because his content is all visual and best shared through social media.
I think write useful content to drive traffic from search engines and to convert them to lifetime reader then try email marketing
There are lots of ways to generate traffic, but what you should know is that what can work for me may not work for you and it also depends on the niche you are focusing on. Say you are in the offline niche for example and you are targeting the tea cafe how to boost their customers relationship it will be difficult to to to facebook and start looking for a tea shop rather you will need to visit their website, contact them via email or call them. That way you can generate more leads. Why some niche only by posting to fb groups you can send in lots of traffics, guest posting, or blog commenting. In all what can work for me may or may not work for you, the best thing is to choose from a wide range of traffic generation method and pick the one you will like to work with. You will be amaze at the results you will get. Hope this helps?
I use these all the time: -Forum marketing -Classifieds -JV giveaways -Video Marketing etc... All free and easy to do...
I think paid traffic is the best use of time and energy -- yes, it costs money but learning how to target and buy quality traffic is priceless. My favorite source for paid ads right now is Facebook. Yeah, I know a lot of people complain about Facebook, but IMO the options for targeting down to a super niche audience works great. Even if the CPC is a little high, the conversion rates are great when you get it right.
Great input everyone. It seems like we all have our own favorite. I prefer ranking videos at the top of Google within 1-2 weeks... thats my thing!
Seo and Traffic from social Media Your Links on social sites can go viral if you have something unique
I have done SEO but I think the best source of traffic is paying for it. Of course the traffic has to be of quality. I would rather find out with paid traffic if my offer converts within minutes rather than spending all this time on SEO. SEO works but its going to take time. In the end there is no such thing as "free" traffic.
If you want a general answer then is PPC, I think you can find more profitable sources but those are very niche specific, so it's a really long talk here and very specific.
