Is there a way to do this?

    We are currently spending a fair amount on AdWords (approx $3K/month) and are trying to optimize our campaign. We sell a number of products on our site and when a new product is added to the database there is automatically a set of AdWords created which we periodically integrate into our campaign. Sometimes these auto-generated AdWords are perfect and other times they aren't and we're trying to figure out an efficient way to prune them.

    To date we've done this manually but what I would love is a way to prune them based on whether we've had any conversions or not. For example, I'd like to do a search of any keywords for which we've spent more than $2.00 in the last month and had zero conversions. It's easy through AdWords to find keywords that we've spent more than $2.00 on. However, I don't see a way to find keywords based on any sort of conversion numbers. Does anyone happen to know a way we might be able to do this?

    When working with AdWords - specifically working with Keywords in AdWords if you are trying to find a 100% automated system you are going to the wrong and dangerous path.

    What you can do and I suggest you do is to go to a semi-automated system that you do some of the operations copying and pasting and it take about 1 or 2 minutes - if you do this a time a week or a time a month it is nothing.

    The best way to do this is working with AdWords Editor and MS Excel - working with both the tools you can do everything you need and you want in just some steps: you just create from example in Excel a automated step that it will read from some file a list (a scheduled AdWords report generated for example) in a format and will produce a output table based on a criteria, so you copy this criteria and paste into AdWords Editor filter and press delete to prune these keywords - this take 2 minutes from your times (5 minutes if you decide to review the keywords before committing the delete operation)

    This is not true....a lot of larger companies use software to automatically manage adwords campaign. You can bid higher on keywords that are converting and lower on keywords that are not.

    But what is the point here?

    So you are suggesting him to create a automated solution for him like big companies do?

    I don't care if big companies has or not automated solutions - we are talking about a solution that jbischke can afford and I gave him a very good solution:

    Please - do it yourself before posting here again.

    if you pay attention in what he is asking, you are not helping and you're going off topic here - do you have a better technical solution that what I described above?

    try setting up a google.com/analytics account (it should be integrated with you adwords automatically, look at the top tabs) there is a way to set up marketing campaigns (Goals) and I think your adwords are already integrated and analyzed and you can see also your ROI (return on investment)

    I have not used adwords, but I think this might be what you are looking for
