I grew up in a small town in England where Football (Soccer) & Rugby were the only sports that mattered. I now live in Canada, a country which knows nothing but Ice Hockey!
I beg to differ. Canada is known for many sports including curling, figure skating, tennis, lacrosse, mixed martial arts, etc.
I thinks soccer is the world most popular sports, except in US. However, our soccer team not have a good time now. Badminton is a popular sport too in my country. Lee Chong Wei
I'm from Poland and football is very popular in our football, although the national team was not doing too well
In Australia its Aussie Rules Football. Crazy awesome game, you must check it out. Rugby League is big in a couple of states too. Soccer though is catching up in popularity..
New Zealand Playing: rugby, soccer, touch rugby, netball, cycling, surfing, running, triathlon, tennis Watching: rugby, basketball, tennis Isn't netball huge in Australia too? Do women play Aussie Rules? I'd love to spend a few NZ winters in Canada mountain biking - so many fantastic places to go!
Ah netball, that is something different. I love playing basketball, so netball is definitely I would love to try as it's rarely played/mentioned here in Canada.
Netball was invented because in post war times it was felt that basketball was too much for women to play. It's a vicious, aggressive game - I can't see that it's any softer than basketball
Netball is a very very popular sport that people play. Participation levels are very high, as high as soccer. (weekend sports, lower leagues, or just socially). But as far as getting crowds to the game or the money involved, it is not even close to Aussie rules. Women do play aussie rules. They have their own league!
I am from Pakistan and Hockey is our national game. Its playing tremendously in our country. On the other hand cricket / football are played too..
Go All Blacks! That's my team for sure. Rugby has next to no popularity here in the U.S., but I love it. Gotta respect a game where you move forward by throwing the ball backwards. lol
