I can choose any industry, or niche. Mine is IM. Yes, I know it's huge, but evergreen, and there are many sub-niches. I can change niches later if I wish. The whole exercise is to make a start and create a web presence.

They must know how to promote their product effectively via online (SEO, etc), I heard more than 90% internet marketer failed, because they're not focus and want big results in a short time:)

Marketing is a how, not a what, so thus it's not an industry.

    1. You need to learn what are the differences between online and offline marketing. From a certain point of view online marketing is much more flexible and gives you room for more creativity. Also a good thing about online marketing is that you can measure much easy your success ratio( there are hundreds of analytics tools). My advice is to study all this kind of marketing tools and services that are available here , if you're trying to promote a certain business , see what your main competitors are doing, study them and the way they are promoting.

    2. Failure. Don't be afraid about failing. Learning online marketing is not an one night process. Is about failing. I started playing with online marketing 11 years ago, and I can tell you that I made a lot of mistakes. That can be discouraging , but it will be the best thing that will happen to you, because in time you'll simply get better and better.

    Hope this helps :)

#1 is definitely how to get traffic to their website and #2 is how to convert the traffic into money

I think newbies want a step-by-step guide. They want to see success first to be convinced that IM is viable. A real case study would do wonders for them.

    1. First they need to think REALISTICALLY and not think that starting a website is doing to make them a millionair(its possible but not likely or not anytime soon)

    2. They need to avoid being sucked into information overload(meaning they get so many different ideas about how to do things) and these different ideas contradict with each other thus leaving the newbie going around in circles(for example one would say to create backlinks to increase serps and another person will say to not create backlinks because it will be considered spam, and the truth is that the right choice in the middle of these two choices. well for newbies they are trying to learn all about these type of things seo, google, social media, wordpress, traffic etc, and so experienced marketers through them all kinds of different ideas which in the end spread the newbies too thin and not being able to focus on one thing that can actually work) i hope this makes sense as i'm really tired to go back and check that my sentence or run-ons make any sense but good luck:)

I appreciate your words of wisdom. I'm not afraid of making mistakes when I know I'll get better in time. And I'm not impatient.

There are many case studies by the gurus but they don't give out the info on how they achieved success. I hope to be able to provide a case study when I "graduate".

So you're a newbie who has never had any experience or success with internet marketing but you plan to get involved with the IM niche?

Please don't be another newbie giving make money online advice to other newbies. It never works and people see through you eventually. It's like the blind leading the blind.

There are ways however to be involved in the IM niche that doesn't involve giving advice on how to make money - setting up websites, improving your writing, designing graphics, making videos etc. Much better if you have the experience than pretending to be an IM guru.

Once they get over the idea that they'll be a millionaire by next Tuesday just by buying this next product....

    1) Step by step instructions for how to make their first $100 online - or even the first $1, rather than seeing it all going the other way.

    2) Products that don't deliver #1. Either because you need the Upsell to make it work or it just isn't detailed and/or honest enough.
