A few years ago there were 2 DJs that did a fantastic afternoon radio show in the UK on BBC Radio 1 called Mark Radcliffe and Mark Riley a.k.a Mark and Lard, who were a couple of pranksters, the show was legendary.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/radcliffe/audio_archive.shtml
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_and_Lard
    http://www.scrawnandlard.co.uk/

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/radcliffe/
    http://www.tvradiobits.co.uk/radio/marklard.htm

I grabbed this avatar around 4 years ago from one of their characters (played by Mark Riley) and I have been using it since. :)

They were brilliant. I used to do a lot of long distance truck driving and used to listen to them religiously every Monday to Friday afternoon. They stopped their show in 2004 and were replaced by "younger, fresher DJs" who were shit, but BBC Radio 1 trys to appeal to a younger audience and so it was the legends split up. :(

Not sure if you yanks will find them funny (could be a Brit humour thing) but some of the stuff they did was very very funny.

Too funny! I've heard the name "Mark Radcliffe" before. Not sure where, but it rang an instant bell when I read it. Thanks for sharing!

    No problems. :)

They were excellent in their heyday, some audio clips are on a couple of the sites I pointed out too. They were class. :D
It was literally the end of fun afternoon radio in the UK when they pulled the plug on them. All Radio 1 does now is play crap music instead, they have a set "Playlist" that they have to use and it is usually the worse music you'll ever hear (Akon, J-Zee, Timberlake, Eminem, Cunty Cent etc. )

There is one guy called Scott Mills (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/scottmills/) who is a raging homosexual and he has some pretty funny moments on his show, but in all fairness nobody could touch Radcliffe and Riley. :D

Sorry, Codythebest I have to disappoint you. I didn't vote for Bush and I didn't vote for Al Gore or Kerry. Why didn't I vote? None of them shares my views.

Bush's first campaign IMO was better than that of Al Gore. He told the public what the public wanted to hear.
The Dems sent the wrong man - Al Gore (or the wrong advisers with him) against Bush. Al Gore was changing his views with the daily forecast and most Americans didn't feel he had a "character" of a strong man to be in charge of the country.
If Bill Clinton had the opportunity to run against Bush, the latter one wouldn't have a chance to be a president. That's why I believe a president should have the right to run as many times as he wants.
If somebody is doing very good job why "fire" him/her?

As far as I remember Al Gore was against the war. I give him a credit for that. Many Americans deeply regret now they voted for Bush.
    - After Vietnam Iraq is in line for the second biggest FAILURE for US.
    FACT.

    LOL.

Thanks for the good laugh GTech.

Now let's get back to the thread. Are you willing to prove yourself as a man and go in Iraq to fight for America and for the freedom of the Iraqis or for whatever other reasons Bush gives us?
Let me guess your answer, you have other priorities now. LOL

It really does not matter who is in power ST12 there is a set agenda and both parties are to all intents and purposes two cheeks of the same arse (to coin a classic George Galloway saying.)

Whoever gets in next (and it will be the Democrats with Hillary Clinton as President) the show must go on.

A few people here call me a conspiracy theorist but when you look at recent history, especially where US Presidents are concerned then it is fairly easy to predict who is next.

Get your bets on Hillary Rodham Clinton. I will be laying heavy money on her being the next President. :)

She won't be much better than good 'ol DUBYA but then again, she won't be any worse.

Thank yourself lucky, we have a big fat useless fucker taking over from Tony Blair by default next year here in the UK.
It cannot get any worse for us British. :(

It wasn't meant for a laugh, it was meant to entice you into avoiding the question again, and it worked.

Actually I served my (not your) country for seven years. I've been out of the Army for 18 years now. I suspect I got out about the time you were in diapers and breast feeding. I'd ask if you've served anything more than cocktails at a gay bar, but then you are not an American. You're just pretending to be one, to garner support for you buds.

Cheer up AGS, it could be a LOT worse! You could have George Galloway taking over and plunging the UK into Eurabia years before it's time ;)

    Well, we share same ideas.
I personaly believe that after having experiencing one of the best president historicaly in the 90's, we experience one of the worst.
However, each time I said someone he/she voted for W. , the answer is 100% the same, i quote:' Oh no, I voted for the other guy".

As I have said in the past, I voted for Bush in both of the last presidential elections. That was the first time I voted for a presidential candidate from either of the 2 major parties. Previous to this, I had been voting for 3rd party candidates, as I do not believe in an exclusively bi-partisan system, and have been voting on the person I felt was the best choice, even if I knew he wouldn’t win, hoping that if enough people did this, others would realize that if everyone voted for the candidate they thought was best, 3rd party candidates would have a fighting chance.

Now, during the last 2 presidential elections, I voted for Bush, and I do believe that at the time those were the right choices. Election 1: I voted based on the Supreme court justices being up for appointment, and I have always felt it is best to have political conservatives in the judicial system. Election 2: I voted based on the fact that I couldn’t get a hold of the candidates views on major issues other than the economy, and the war, due to being embroiled in trying to finish up my degree, and not knowing about the political resources that I know about now. I did not want us setting a hard date for leaving, felt that since we were there, we should, as a nation, step up to our responsibilities to the Iraqi people and try to clean up the mess we had made of their infrastructure. Repair power plants, help a stable government step up in place of the chaos we had made, ect.

Before you run for president, learn to use "the internets" and "the google"
You also learn to "downloadify" stuff from "the internets" using "the google".

    LOL

See this if you have not seen before http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MunMCO3uNdA

I can understand that sort-of. Ever since Roosevelt, a very richly saturated democrat-appointed court slowly moved the country towards anti-constitutionalism. I watched both of Bush's appointments through their senate hearings, and they were highly respectable appointments. I think in the long-run, that will be one of the better things he offered.

Since the president serves in a term of 4 years, and the justices he appoints serve in terms of "Until they die or step down", I felt the appointment of 2 justices was more important than what the man himself would do, especially since I very much dislike the trend of redefining the constitution, and justices ruling about things that are CLEARLY against certain constitutional ammendments (eminent domain issues).

The court is either full of philosophical kings or those whom will defend the highest principles of our government.
