How can you say it will not be useful for the public

If a create dmoz like on with free editors there will be lot of corruption among editors for adding the links thats only I have created the revenue sharing model

and ads will be displayed only in the submission page

and also I am happy to tell you that I have sorted out these two things
    1) a editor can easily login and edit
2)and also they do not want to create static html pages

so now you're going with a database hun? cool, now all you have to do is convince editors to review the listings for you while you take 70% of the income and convince google to drop dmoz and go with your paid directory.

    Hi freewebspace,

    Just start your directory :)
If it usefull for public, and your revenue sharing model is really working you and your editors, that will be great.

when dmoz itself is having issues , how can you prove to be better then netscape, if you can manage it, dmoz will hire you to manage their directory !!
try proving this to them and you are done :D
let me tell you. even if you have a revenue sharing model its not gona be sufficient to make the editors happy, can u imagine number of websites being added in dmoz daily,
do u think 1000 editors are gona come up to do volunteer job
also try doing a survey here, how many will be willing to become a editor, and what returns would they get..
    try out mate !!
idea is good, but you need huge funds and management skills and your own team initially then others would look forward to participate as a editor.

my idea is that revenue sharing model like digitalpoint and It will be always free

    and no featured links

I would have two submission options

    One free
another instant inclusion for $6( this is only to eradicate corruption)

I expect 1000 submissions a day at starting

As it grows up I have plans to hire fully paid editors

my question is why will editors join ?
what are u giving to editors , can u calculate the roi with time editors will spend on your directory
how can u compare revenue sharing at dp with ur directory, this is a resource for webmaster discussion, with your directory idea, how are editors gona benifit ?

1000 ppl giving their time has to be valued, this is not a joke, think seriously before starting a plan. try making better ideas ill giv you my reviews .

If suppose 1000 people join my directory as editors

When a user submit his website he will be directed to the submission page

there a google ads of the editor will be displayed and most of the time after submission a visitor always looks for links on the website and he might click it

so there are greater chances(50%) of clicking on the ads on submission pages so a editor can earn atleast $10-$30 monthly if he advertises the category in which he is the editor

Also a editor is required to have 100 referers a month to our directory

and if there is 100 listings is added by each editor then

if suppose 100X100 editors(10000 listings in one month a rough estimate)

and if there is any revenue from instant inclusion option it will be also shared according to their performance

    quality of links added
    amount of links added
    referers

they need atleast 5-10 hours to add 100 links a month

its easy for webmasters to set up their own directory and earn from it
why will they want to be a part of a common directory, what is so special in it ?
u mean to say webmasters will look to earn from this directory just for adsense ?
    not at all convincing.

$10-$30 may not be high but it is also an extra income for others

though not many persons would not agree with me here but many persons would join editors

You can get some people join at first but how to keep it long?

Not all will go as you think, it would be a big project, need more money and human resource as I mentioned.

Do you mean to say 1 out of 2 people click those ads on the submission pages?., we get 1000 submissions every day at our muslimmatrimonial.com directory and the click through rate is never 50%
