    Yesterday, I submitted my site to a host of web directories that this SEO book I'm reading suggested. I figured it will take a couple of months to pay off, but when I looked at my stats today, I got 300 visits from Facebook. I looked at the visitor's path and it appears that they went through every article on my site, but on separate occasions, almost like what a Googlebot would do. Wow! Then I got nervous. What is happening? Does Facebook do this? At first I thought it was robot traffic, but I have not paid for anything.

    First thing is No, facebook doesn't index a website .... it is the work of search engine !!

    Nopes, why would facebook index your website? They themselves use bing search engine in the graph search...

    Whereas they have facebook edge rank but that is only for facebook pages and status updates from facebook...
    Google facebook edge rank for more about i...

    actually i have no idea - does facebook index or not , but i found some good plugins yoast , all in one seo automatically add meta for search engine. why they ask social meta optimization?

    Can you clear me please :)

    Yoast allows to define which image, description, title you want to display when someone shares your page/post. Same like you use for google meta description, titles.
