Media.net, the Yahoo Publisher Network = CRAP

DISCLAIMER : this is MY experience, yours may vary, so try them if you wish and no need to tell me that your experience is different, and yes my traffic comes mainly from US/CA/UK.

    Hi,
I have applied twice last year when the news about media.net/yahoo came up on this forum and have been denied twice. I thought, well screw them, I just wanted to test if it was any good, that's it..

Now, earlier this year (june) I have been "spammed" by one representative through my site's contact form (so not a follow up from my 2 applications) and I said OK.

It is really CRAP, I'm not using this word lightly, it really is. It is about the level of Chitika, but even less..

I was expecting a correct RPM, but it is often less than $1 and somedays 0..

On this ad location I know what Adsense gave me as well as chitika, because I used this prime spot before and it is performing well in terms of CTR.

So when I get 0 RPM and 0 earnings it simply means nobody is clicking for the whole day? Why is that? Ads not relevant? Ad block looking like crap? They're not reporting clicks anyway, only RPM, easy for them..

So if you're not yet on media.net, don't bother registering or answering their spam, not worth it. If you don't have adsense, then you can use chitika or any other low-earning network, no need to use this one in particular..

Well to be honest, I would classify media.net as bad as chitika, so do what you want, you can use them or another. It is not correct because yahoo is a well known company, so the pool of advertizers should mean higher RPM, but it's true that yahoo takes its share and media.net also takes its share, so you, the publisher, end up with what is left.. and someday it is simply $0, enjoy!

Good luck, but now my mind is made up about Media.net.

I have also tried their service for 1 week along with adsense (for testing purpose) and the results are horrible. Where I was earning nearly $70-$100 /day in adsense, media.net earning was in between $3 - $10 (which is less than 10% of adsense earning).

So finally made up mind to use only adsense. AdSense rocks (Google don't be EVIL !!)

I tried many networks for my site which was banned from Adsense for having Adult pics... Chitika didn't worked out for me.. All sucked..

Qadabra worked for me. I used Qadabra and Infolinks at once and total earning is equal to Adsense.. ;)

Its has only tag name of Yahoo & Bing ! Nothing else. Most of the days you will get $000 in media.net repost even your adsense earning is $100+ per day.

I started out nice and was making decent money then it stopped and it was making 0. I took the ads down and they sent me an e-mail saying they adjust the ads over the first three weeks for best optimization, So I put the ads back up and we will see so far still 0.

I have the answer why Publisher getting zero revenue with Media.net!

    Last week I email them:
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
Would you check algorithm in your publisher commission software, are your
cheating? Sorry for ask this, I ask this because I got Zero revenue in 3
weeks with 700 imp/day and 1200 unique visitors/day. My USA traffic about
    30%.
    Thanks

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then I got the answer from Trusha G (Media.net):
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    I understand your concern.

On an average it takes our system somewhere around 3 to 4 weeks to
understand the traffic, content, visitor's intent, etc.

At times it might take even more time depending on the vertical, site,
    impressions, and other factors.

As I currently see, the impressions are too less for our system to run
    any test.

It would be great if our ads could receive some exposure on your site.

    Regards,
    Trusha

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I think the answer is "PUBLISHER NEED TO LET MEDIA.NET ADS STAY FOR 3-4 WEEKS BEFORE MEDIA.NET ALGORITHM RECOGNIZE YOUR WEBSITE. YOU MUST PATIENT FOR 3/4 WEEKS WITHOUT ANY REVENUE BUT THEN YOUR EARNING SLOWLY WILL BE NORMAL, TRUST ME THIS METHOD WORKS!!"

@Technary that doesn't only mean you need to be with them for 3-4 weeks, you also have to receive enough traffic. Not too good for starter websites

What do you mean exactly? Does media.net forbid to dislose CPM, CTR, etc. ?
What is your CPM on your best performing ad bloc?

Exactly 3-4 weeks is a long time. We cannot wait for that amount of time! :)

I have not used media.net yet so commenting on CPM will not be the right thing for me

After hearing this I will surely not opt for such a service! :)
