Hi guys, I have a website with categories such as android tutorials, android programming, Linux etc. Many of the keywords are ranking in top position until Friday (1/12). Almost all rankings dropped in the past two days. They are still in Google search but pushed to second and third pages. I have a article which topped in search results for 4 months also dropped. I have no Idea what went wrong. Please help me to recover.
@Raj Amal well, there are two things you need to understand first is just looking at your site we can't point you the exact site: there are 2 things 1. If you are ranking on the top of the ranking from a long time and this drop is the sudden and major drop then you need to find out what is the major reason behind this major drop there may be several reasons why it dropped down i.e. you may have been penalized because of the spammy links or...... etc. 2. If you are on top of the ranking and dropped down to one or two level (From your written text, I think this might be your case). So, i think there is no need to worry at all because normal ups and downs are common in Google. This ups and down is may be because of the the low quality back link or your competitor may have got something good than you have.... In order to get up again try building more quality link than you have now ... Hope this might help you up in getting back on the top !!
@John Dave See my Webmaster Tools impressions , which dropped from 37k to 15k in 2 days. What do you think?
@Raj Amal It may be because your competitors may move forward by doing SEO or it may also happen because of Google Dance !! For being in safe side check the Google Webmaster tool for any manual penalty or some thing like that ...... !!
@John Dave There is no manual penalty. But all my rankings are dropped. Is it good to find the bad spammy links and disavow them ?
@Raj Amal Well, i guess you could do that because it will help in the future !! Try to find the spammy links and try deleting it on your own at first and still if you are unable to remove the spammy links than you could always disavow them !!
@John Dave Any online tools to find spammy links. I have downloaded the WMT latest links in CSV format
@Raj Amal Well there are tools to find out spammy links but i would rather prefer doing it manually. I know its a time taking process but I am assuring you that this hard work is going to pay. Otherwise you could also use "validator.w3.org/checklink" to check bad links.
