Alexa traffic ranking

How do they measure it, i have started one of my websites from last 2 week, in 1st week it was at 600,300 next week it was 477,234 and today i check it is on 365,xxx ,
how this change happening very soon even i am not able to get any backlink from google

 

Many factors play a roll. You might get visitors from people using the Alexa foolbar

 

Toolbars, Bots, Alexa reviews and linkings...

 

Me too. I only launched my website for 3 month, and the rank go from 2100000 to 1300000, and then to 890563, while last week it is 407313, and this week 347234. However my maximum daily unique visitors are only 100 (by statcounter). And know I don't which one is more trustable, Alexa or Statcounter?

 

I think you can trust statcounter, but you need to have it on every page to accurately count all visitors. Alexa is an estimate based on visitors to your website who have the Alexa toolbar installed.

Although I started a thread about Alexa being intrinsically biased towards directories and SEO type websites, or websites attracting webmasters, some people agreed with me and others disagreed.

 

i would agree, who else would install such a toolbar??

so mean to say if someone got the website where people visit it but dont have alexa toolbar installed on there explorer then that traffic wont be count, its really funny

Its not given much clout. Its only useful to compare similar sites.

 

Bots don't have the alexa toolbar installed so i very much doubt they influence your alexa traffic rank
