Friends - We have developed an gifting website http://www.giftfantasia.com

Here we taking products from Amazon and putting into the right categories so that users can use our filters for narrow down gifts for their loved ones based on age, relationship, occasion, personality, price and discount.
Our product is almost ready. Now the question is how to reach out to millions of people on internet. I know google will help us in some manner but that will be slow.
I need suggestion for effective internet marketing.
Also we are design iOS app so I would like how to do App markting.

    Regards,
    Amit

But I don't think Loss Leader will work in this scenario. Do you think email marketing would give us good results?

When you have, no budget go back to the traditional ways of spreading the word. Worth of mouth to friends and family, social media marketing, guest posting on high traffic blogs in your niche, etc. If what you are offering is good people will start talking about you throughout the web until you are able to save money to use paid forms of advertising.

Marketing with Facebook on a limited budget can work very well in your favor... I have personally done a $5.00 campaign there that yielded me penny clicks. 497 clicks for $5 is not too shabby, huh? :) Just make sure the image is engaging and that you are targeting the right categories of course.

Posting your own images and links on Forums, Twitter, Pinterest and some Social Bookmarking sites work fantastic as well.

If you knew how to do SEO, first page rankings would have you killing it in ORGANIC Search Traffic....

    Holla!

In terms of marketing, you cannot expect the results right away. It is not just market then money - it is way more complicated than that. Marketing is " to build relationship with your prospects " in a long run.

If you would like to have a quick result, there is one way " spam ".

Marketing - data collecting - analyzing metrics - tweaks etc.

I'd suggest creating a Facebook Page for your Business.

From there, you can promote your products individually and engage your followers.

On top of that, try to capture the emails of your followers to send them promotional newsletters!

    All the best!

Additionally, create a blog and post content related to your website (e.g. Tips to select a perfect gift).

For amazon product, I'd say that Pinterest is your place.
Facebook has a much lower conversion rates and since the reach is down so badly, there's no point to go there with products.
Also, pinterest posts are getting quite a lot of organic traffic if you put well-optimized description ;)

    1. If I want to read about it on Google, I'll search there instead of being on this forum.
    2. Try google something and you'll have links to DP in top 10 :)
    3. Instead of posting generic replies - give some specifics that actually have a value to readers.

This is not the ony rely that's good. I also like Eugene's response. I think using a wide variety of advertisement in the beginning will help you identify your niches.

    Exactly!
Based on what kind of business/website you have, you will see which one is working best for you.
    For example,
If you have website like 9gag, there's no point to go after AdWords ads - odds are you'll end up with negative ROI.
Instead of this, you can hit social networks, reddit, and stumbleupon.

If you have site with video content - vimeo, coub, and youtube are your options.

For products - adwords, yahoo & bing ads, pinterest would be first place to start.
    _____________________________________________________________
    The biggest here is budget.
The smaller it is, the longer it will take to test all channels and determine which one fits you.
And there's no magic answer like "Do this and there and you'll have customers" :)

    My 2 cents.

First thing you want to do is start making some money from it...any money. Even if its $5 a day. No prob, take every red cent you make from the site and reinvest right back into to rank it higher in the serps, PPC ads, etc. etc.

Make money + Reinvest all profits x repeat x repeat = Cash Machine

If you're a new site you won't have an email list though so hiw do you plan to email marketing? Please don't start spamming people or buying lists you don't have permission to email.

For a site like this social media will work well, get active on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Stumbleupon and Reddit.

Reach out to bloggers in your niche and see if you can write a guest post for them or have your site featured on their site. Get involved with relevant forums and become an authority figure.

Blog comment on relevant niche blogs. Release a few press releases. Sign up for HARO. Create cool YT videos that make people come to your site.

    1) build a powerful newsletter and focus your business to get leads

    2) Facebook groups are FREE and you find many groups that are related to your niche. Same case for yahoo groups (it's easy marketing that works!)

You are basically copying amazon, you will not beat amazon in search engine results. I would go with more of a review site type. And, I would have products on the main page.

You might want to seek out some amazon tutorials by erica stone, I have several of her products and they are helping my amazon sites immensely. She usually posts her products at warrior forum
