How did you learn Google SEO

I am just curious to know how everyone learned seo and how long have they been doing it. Thanks.

 

Well I learned seo over 14 years ago. Back then the acronym SEO didn't even exist nor did the industry. It was simply called natural search. i taught myself seo by doing research and applying the principles for optimizing my websites for search and was very successful in doing it.

 

I believe that most people teach themselves. I still push it to the limits to try new things to see what works and what doesn't. My clients love us because we are always switching it up, we never have the same service for years and years on end.

 

I too taught myself all about SEO as I was very interested as I could not get my initial website any visitors, you will have to read a lot about it (about 12 months min.) and still you will be baffled as no one will divulge THE true secret to getting you on the first pages of search engines. I am willing to reveal the secret for what what we SEOs call a RoI.

 

Just learn from other bloggers such as Matt Woodward and Patt Fylnn and apply what you learn.

 

I learned SEO basically on reading forums and searching the internet like blog sites.

 

With SEO you can never say that you "have learned it". It is a never ending process. You can learn some basics and then improve your skill over time.

 

I agree. SEO is indeed a never ending process. In order to get the best results, it is important to keep yourself updated with the latest SEO trends.

 

Most people learn from a mix of reading blogs and forums and putting it into action. So the quicker you get started the better.

By reading online tutorials, Blogs, articles, forums one can learn SEO, each time Google algorithm changes and one needs to learn and apply different white hat techniques . Yes its a never end process.

 

I've learned about SEO through my friends, they have online business and I decided to have one too, I watched, bought free SEO tutorials and I'm learning new things everyday.

 

I was tutored. That was 4 years ago. I'm trying new methods now, not necessarily google SEO, and once I decide to take up a campaign, in about 3 months this year, I'll concentrate on it and I'm sure I'll make money out of it.

I think is easy to learn about SEO, but is hard to know how to do it right. You have to draw conclusions and put them in practice. The best teacher is experience that you get over the years.

Being an SEO expert is a little different than most professions. You cannot just learn a universal set of rules and follow them. In order to be successful you have to be adaptive, flexible and always updated. And reading...a lot and lot of constant reading.

 

At first creating websites was my hobby. Then I though "Hmm, do anyone visit my websites?" and I start reading about SEO. Then there was lots of tests and learning. After some time I was hired as SEO specialist... I already had basic knowledge about it and I was just developing all the time. Of course I needed to read lots of forums, blogs and some books.

I think most of us begin in the similar way.

 

Well, I not learned SEO. My first job is SEO. I work there as a trainee for 6 months. And after 6 years I am working in same company. So I m doing SEO from last 6 years.

 

I learned SEO through my experience with blogging.
