Yes, the content with 100 to 200 words is not much enough for blogs, the words must be 300 to 400 is good for every blog/website.

Absolutely. But the question was whether it's safe, not whether it's better. :)

A few years ago, I would have said the same thing, but these days I'm not so sure. 100 words is actually quite a lot. Twitter manages with only 140 characters, after all (though that's a completely different animal, of course).

If two pages provide the same answer, but one does it succinctly in 100 words and the other takes 1,000, most of which is blather and filler, which is likely to rank higher?

We do indeed, but it's not the question being asked.

I agree and disagree. In the vast majority of cases, that statement is true, but it isn't always true and you can't make a general statement like that for every situation.

In this case, it doesn't matter: the question was whether it's "safe" (which I take to mean "will I be penalised?"), not whether it's the best course of action. The OP clearly states he intended short content, so he's not asking whether it's the best thing to do, whether other people like the idea or whether it will solve world hunger: he wants to know if he'll be penalised.

Of course. The difficulty here (and the one which my literal approach attempted badly to show) was that no one knows exactly how Google values things. Consequently, it's almost impossible to say "other things being equal" because we have no measure for equality.

If you've got the budget, hell yes. :D

We don't disagree on anything at all: we're simply answering different questions. You're looking at what's best for a site, I'm answering the initial question of whether the site will be safe.

Face it, we're both too smart for our own good. ;)

Safe in what sense? You mean will Google rank you?

Probably not. Why give people posts of 200 words that can't possibly explain anything in detail when they can give more indepth content that is more likely to give people what they are looking for.

    Try harder.

It might be considered egotistical to say so, but I think you're right :)

You can rank really high with 250 characters if you have set up your title and description tag correct.
