Do you get more search referrals when you gain pagerank?

Started my site 4 months ago. Still have a 0 displayed pagerank. My question is, once I finally gain a pagerank, will I start receiving more search referrals from Google?

I ask this because I've heard that pagerank is constantly updated and even though you may display as a Zero, you do actually have pagerank this is constantly updated by Google.

Currently receiving 3-4k visitors from Google.

For me at least, a PR update it's not like a "switch" that gets turned on and suddenly I have more visitors.

My uniques grow slowly over time, and I can't really tie it to a jump in PR.

The one thing that does seem to tie to a PR update is an increase in the number of link requests I get.

Your PR will increase once you have other website linking back to you that have some type of PR.

You will receive "search referrals from Google" once you are ranking high for keywords and phrases. Depending on the search term you could have been ranking for them already.

PR is not something that changes from 0 to 5 and BAM! you get 250% more traffic from Google.

Yes, the PR number maybe jumps, but if you a prediction that says PR5, you should know that you have been receiving traffic accordingly for quite some time now.

by the way: Nice celeb blog! =) ...How do you get so many advertisers with BlogAds? i can't seem to get any and my prices are the lowest in all networks =/

Toolbar pagerank is only updated quarterly (last one was October so next one will be approx mid Jan. 2007)

The toolbar update merely reflects the gradual changes that have occured over the previous quarter. Just as soon as it is updated....it is no longer accurate.

Wow yeah, you have a ton of inbound links for a 4 month old site. You will see quite a PR jump reflecting the traffic you have been getting....

    Thanks everyone for your answers

Allen: Thanks for the compliment. Can't really give you an answer. I guess people just enjoy my site. When I first started blogads, I was getting nothing; it's only started to pick up lately.

When you gain a pagerank, it won't give you any new traffic, when you get out of the Google Sandbox though of course then you will start receiving hits

PR update will not give you increase in your traffic.. Just do some good optimization on site.. and without PR also you will get good traffic... All is that you optimize site and get better rank.. PR will be given as per your back links and other affecting factor for PR...

Most people know that Google already keeps a private directory of the PageRank values for a domain (which is above the limit of 10, I believe).

But this usually does not affect your Search Engine ranking, but I have a small theory that I developed for myself :p Basically Google assigns keywords to each page, and each keyword is given a certain amount of rating points.

If I had a page which had the same keyword and the same keyword rating for another page, Google would pull up it's private PageRank values and display the page with a higher PR in a higher position.

Just an idea, no way for me to prove it though..
