Hi, I do know that Alexa Ranking is not all but it seems to be crazy with my site bian12cunghoangdao.com
Yesterday, I saw it listed at ranking of about 3 million global ranking, and 22,000 Vietnam Ranking
But today, It went up incredibly: 210,000 and 2015th in Vietnam.
    I cannot believe it

There are many speculations on how the Alexa Rank works but I don't think anyone has come up with a flawless observation on the subject. Various reasons might have caused this suddden increase, a recent change, blog post, article, forum post might have attracted a lot of attention and thus boosted your traffic. Keep in mind that the Rank is based on the comparison with the other websites around it. So this just means that for this period your website attracted much more attention in comparison with them. Especially when your website is ranked so low (in the 3m) any small change can result in a significant rise.

All in all I wouldn't pay so much attention in both Google and Alexa Ranks anyways, they seem to waving goodbye and staying in the past ;)

Actually, it is pretty well known how Alexa works, and there is a very simple and obvious explanation to what you are observing.

Alexa does not measure your total site traffic: it cannot do that because unlike Google Analytics), there is no Alexa code snippet that is placed on all pages of your site. Instead, Alexa gives you a traffic projection based on measuring the number of visits to your site by users who have the Alexa bar installed in their browsers.

What I am guessing has happened is that you have recently become interested in Alexa and installed the Alexa toolbar / extension / plugin in your browser. And you visit your site all the time, and each such visit skews the Alexa data. I am guessing you are either located in Vietnam or have team members located there who have the Alexa toolbar installed and are visiting your site a lot. Few people in Vietnam have the Alexa toolbar installed, so your Vietnam Alexa rank is not competitive and it is very easy to game it in this way.

If you want still better results, set your site s homepage as your homepage in the browser. Get your family members to do the same, and get the to install the Alexa toolbar. That way, every time any of you start your browser, that will register a visit to your site to Alexa, and this will further inflate your Alexa rank.

Sounds stupid? Well, Alexa is pretty stupid and easy to manipulate.

You can find more info in this old but still largely accurate Alexa FAQ:
