Fair enough MIA. What sort of packages were you expecting anyway? Taxes are relatively easy to avoid in Argentina if you're an expat with an internet business. Uraguay - cheap beautiful apartments in the Montevideo CBD.
Heres an interesting study on tax done by the world bank. It follows the number of hours spent per year and the total amount of taxes. http://www.doingbusiness.org/ExploreTopics/PayingTaxes/
I tried sending something to a friend. Customs kept it and screwed me and my friend. Meanwhile I used UPS and used the proper tariff codes, etc... UPS is in the process of compensating us, or so they say. Anyway, at the end of the day I ended up spending $180 to ship something worth $50. UPS told me flat out, do not sending anything to Argentina, they are corrupt. After my experience, I would have to agree. I cannot even get them to send it back. Things like this make me love the USA more and more each day.
Well if you want to send something to Australia or New Zealand you won't have any problems. If you leave an Australian airport heading for an asian country where they have the death penalty for drug trafficking just make sure you lock up your bags.
Well the something I sent was not drugs... He left his MP3 player here and I sent it to him. That was it... Apparently you can't send MP3 players to the country, but, they will keep them for you. Bastards!
Come-on I suggested you move to Wales ages ago and you're not here yet (I'd know there aren't that many of us)....
Seems like every other person in Wales is called Jones... makes you wonder about some of those little villages.
This post is absolutely hilarous man haha, should be part of a humour column. Anyway lets hear some more places to relocate too
That is funny, I remember in Amsterdam seeing a bunch of British dudes throwing bycicles into the canals.
Oh @ Mia mentioning living in NY for $3 dollars a day... Since when does a hotdog, a can of coke and pretzel fill you up for a day. Thats a most 1,000 calories of junk food. a Normal male needs at least 2000 a day..... Not to mention, it is very hard to find places selling a hot dog for a buck, they are mostly $1.25 or $1.50, same goes for pretzels. + if you have to "know where to go" it is gonna take you at least $4 to get there and back, or a long ass walk for that matter
The point was that it is not as expensive to eat in NYC as many thing, if you know what to look for. That same three bucks can buy a couple pies and some water. (that's pizza).. However, now that NYC has decided to act like the looney left coast, I am sure everything will taste like crap and cost more since trans fats have been banned.
