    Hello fellow digitalpoint members,
I am starting a new project in which i will be having my website system, members database, member upgrades ,a blog about new changes, support forum. I am also thinking of having facebook and twitter login in this project
I don't want to code from scratch as this will take lot of time
What would be the best open source software for this project ?

You should check WordPress. Use it as your website/blog and add some membership/forum plugins.

I used wordpress before and used a plugin to generate thumbnails, the size of the wordpress directory was 2GB approx without having much data
    It was a normal blog

Because it sucks as a CMS.

Yes, Drupal would be a much better option. Particularly as you want to have membership and member upgrades. Drupal's access control is very good. The forum module is different to a typical forum (in terms of appearance), but works perfectly fine. The Advanced Forum module can be used to change its appearance so it's more like a traditional one.

    Thanks for the reply
I also want to know how much time will it take to understand template structure of Drupal ?
And are there any good designers for drupal that can take the task of front end design ?

To understand the structure doesn't take long if you are familiar with PHP and HTML or making themes for WordPress or other CMS.

As for a paid designer, you might as well start your search at:

Sorry, I saw your post as I was finishing night shift and forgot to return to it until now!

Drupal is usually pretty good in terms of security, but like every software there are sometimes bugs. However, the Drupal developers are good at getting at updates to fix any problems with the core. You won't find any CMS that is 100% secure. You can read more about Drupal and security at:

    https://drupal.org/security-team

With regards to Joomla, Drupal pales in comparison. Joomla is fine for a simple site, but gets more complicated to develop with if you need more than basic pages. That's the opposite with Drupal - it's very easy to create custom content types out of the box.

Have a read of this thread:

    https://forums.digitalpoint.com/thr...-barnes-nobles-university-of-alabama.2691954/

(My second post in it is more detailed.)

In my opinion Word Press is best option for you. Because Word Press have so many plugins for member ship, Support Forum , facebook and twitter login plugins. I personally use wordpress for my every project i have face no such big problem yet. The second option Drupal for you.
