Which is the best PHP framework(other than Magento) to build an E-commerce web portal and which is more SEO friendly ?
Prestashop or Opencart, both are rocking - Some advantages i personally think opencart has over prestashop is that it given product comparison and filter option by default wihtout any 3rd party addons.
Magento is a shopping and CMS based on the Zend framework. Are you looking for an actually framework, like Zend, Symfony, Codeignitor, etc., or something that is already a developed platform to customize.
By "PHP framework" do you mean you want to build from scratch, or do you want to use an existing script? With regards to an existing system, I would definitely recommend Drupal with the Commerce module (and there are many other modules to achieve pretty much anything you want). The amount of flexibility this can give you is massive, especially when using other modules such as Panels and Views (these both help with what content you present and the way), pathauto (so-called "search engine friendly" URLs generated automatically - you can also specify patterns per content type, category and similar - massive flexibility). Otherwise, OpenCart isn't too bad, but a bit more limiting and not as quick to develop with as Drupal.
Opencart is best framework to build an e- commerce web portal .OpenCart is designed feature rich, user friendly, search engine friendly and with a visually appealing interface. Unlimited Categories Unlimited Products Unlimited Manufacturers Multi Currency Multi Language Product Reviews Product Ratings Open Source Free Documentation Templatable Automatic Image Resize 20+ Payment Gateways 8+ Shipping Methods
OpenCart is recommended . Its simple to manage from backend and has good SEO features. Further there are thousands of low cost extensions available for additional features Prashant Transacific Software.
As per my experienc prestashop and opencart is quite SEO friendly..i have handled various type of Ecommerce website
Hi Mikal, I'm with OpenCart too on this one if Magento is not an option. However there is a downside, stock control on variations & multi-variation products. There are extensions that solve this, but they break the standard importing tools. If you're just selling (or your client is just selling) simple products with no variants, then OpenCart all the way. Matt
I'd have said Magento since I've been using it for almost as long as its been out there in the market. But other than that, depending on the type and extent of need you have, you might wanna decide between a hosted or a non solution first. Then, just review their demos briefly so you understand what's available out of the box and then choose which one matches closest to your needs. I've used OpenCart, X Cart, Wordpress Ecommerce and even custom PHP based eComm platforms; they all have their advantages and ofcourse their downsides as well. Without knowing much about your requirements, I'd just say 1. OpenCart, 2. Prestashop (if you want hosted).
you can try WordPress most easy to understand and can develop powerful websites, with variety of themes to choose from. WordPress is very SEO Friendly WordPress Highly Recommended
There's a lot of love for OpenCart and WooCommerce in this thread, and it's not misguided. When it comes to building your OWN framework and making sure it works well with the search engines, these two options are really strong choices.
