Oh wow dr designer how can you claim something as original like that when it's stolen? You realize someone else spent hours on the work you stole and you just claim it as yours? And it's disrespectful to other designers such as myself who spend hours on their work and need the money and get no recognition for it because of people like you.
it's starting to seem like a lot of designers here are really good at copying and pasting logos together.....
I've been on this site on and off for years and it hasn't always been that way. I guess nowadays people see graphic design as an easy way to cheat people out of their money.
my try: my idea is combining the spartan helmet and an X body shape inside the helmet to represent the crossfit. Any comments are welcome.
EXCUSE ME, sir. I don't really see the similarities between my illustration and that link. Just because both of them have gloves on and are raising their fists, doesn't make them the same! Even the shadow, contour and highlights I used and that picture are different! Even their facial expressions aren't the same. Geez people. Why don't you look closely before you judge someone's work? I've also spent HOURS for illustrating the spartan, his helmet and the barbell, not just you. I've been here on DP for almost 6 years now, and this is the first time someone mistaken my work for being stolen. Regards, DrD
Reaaally, man? Really? You're just making it worse on yourself. Just admit it and hey we all make mistakes.
LOL.. this is getting uncomfortable now man. The laugh I got out of this is priceless though. "EXCUSE ME, sir!" ... " I don't really see the similarities"
Now, thank you very much for pointing that out. And I hope you're happy for bashing other designers' work in hopes that the CH will turn to your work. On to the topic: I'd be lying if I said that I didn't see that picture or didn't have it as my inspiration - that's one point: inspiration. I did have that picture as a "base" for me to work "MY" own artwork and it just so happen that the outermost lines turned to be the same. But that's where it ends. The shadows and contours and face are completely different. You just overlapped my work on that image so that it'll "look" exactly the same when it isn't.
Mark Wayne: Mate, you seem to be so busy criticizing other people's design that you fail to notice that the "design" entry you posted yourself, isn't even entirely made by you. That's a picture of a real-life person and real-life helmet. Add a little "Cut-out" filter in Photoshop, paste the helmet layer on top and voila: a "logo" I doubt it's even a vector.
Nobody's bashing anyone's work or attempting any manipulative manoeuvres. We are just stating the obvious. If you would be mature enough you would accept it and stop trying to convince us of what is clear to all other designers that have posted in this thread. You know how they say : Qui s'excuse,s'accuse.
I re-read the previous posts and realized that I let my temper get the better of me.. I do hope we can move on with the contest.. I know I'm at fault here. I sincerely apologize to my fellow designers: Pehulz, Flare97, luckidesign and to CH for making a ruckus here because of my using an image as an inspiration. I realized that what Flare97 said was true and am sorry for it. I know that this matter will not fade quickly, but I do hope that we can forget this and move on. I assure you that this will be the first and the last. Kind regards, DrD
Here's my second concept: I will not say anything anymore but this is 100% handrawn in Adobe Illustrator. I give all designers the right and chance to prove this concept's credibility, so that it can also help the CH of this contest. Regards, DrD
this actually looks a lot better then the 1st one you did... your original work is better -- so why use pre-existing art ?
I'm ashamed to say that I was being lazy. You see, my graphics tablet died on me a long time ago and had to do a rough sketch and then scan and clean and then place it on AI, and so on a so forth. Instead of doing that, I searched for some inspiration and started drawing from that. I know that this is not a valid excuse and I'm sorry once again. Cheers, DrD
Much respect for proving yourself to everyone DrDesigner. Awesome work and I apologize for calling you out. @Contest holder: I'm going to work on a submission for immortals and try to make it look more fitness oriented than my spartan logo.
