    uBot is pretty amazing. With it you can automate just about any task that you perform in a web browser including all sorts of link building techniques.

    It's pretty pricey at about $250 but it's worth every cent.

    The thing to be aware with Google, Matt, is that it only gives you about 10% of the searches it knows people are making.

    You can test this for yourself. Search for all search terms including the word "buy" and you will get around 650 results.

    Well, it's clearly ridiculous that only 650 people are searching including the term "buy" in any one month. There must be a lot more searches in a month than that.

    So, as long as you know Google is throttling the results then yes, you can use it. But just don't imagine you are getting the whole picture.

    Using Google Suggest
    One way to get more results is to use a "Google suggest scraper" of some sort. (You know when you type into Google and it gives ten suggestions? A "Suggest Scraper" copies these and pastes them into one file for you.)

    Scrapebox will do this for you if you've got it; (but be careful with that baby! It's powerful and you need to know what you're doing. [And if you want to know what you're doing, there's no better tutorial than Jacob King's:
    http://www.jacobking.com/ultimate-guide-to-scrapebox
    )

    Otherwise, Super Suggester is a really easy to use, and quite cheap, way of doing it. And much more user-friendly. It does one thing well: scraping Google suggest. Using that software and searching for the word "buy" (I did a comparison :) ) returns 7000 search phrases. That's more like it! Not the paltry 650 that Google returns!

    I created a post about Super Suggester here if you are interested:

    http://heymalc.com/best-keyword-research-tool

    After getting the search phrase suggestions (which are, remember, coming straight from Google) you then need to get volume for the searches to see which ones are worth pursuing for keyword research.

    You can do this by pasting them back into Google – but Google does have a 200 search phrase maximum (well, they wouldn't want to make it easy for you would they?)

    So yes, by all means use Google, but be aware of its limitations.

    Malc
