We are currently hosted at LiquidWeb 1GB RAM VPS plan. We have around 7 websites, which get very less traffic! Normally, 1000-2000 unique visitors in total for the websites. But LiquidWeb has failed to serve us, as the sites go down every day, 10-15 times. And they give the reason as Im using too much resources and reaching max clients in Apache. I dont want to hear such things after paying 60$ for a fully managed VPS server, so I have started looking for options. Let me know, what do you guys suggest ? Need a company, who can do auto transfer , since LiquidWeb is WHM and cPanel only. I dont want to waste time transferring all sites all again. Let me know asap as I need to take an immediate decision. Thanks. My requirements : 4-8GB RAM,cPanel WHM Support, Fully Managed, 200GB SSD (if possible), 24x7 ticket support just like LiquidWeb. Budget 100$ monthly
Im only looking for compainies who have been on business for last 3-5 years. Not interested for the new companies or 1-2 year old companies.
Why don't you stay with Liquidweb and purchase a bigger plan? You might not want to hear that, but fully managed or not, if the server runs out of resources then it's going to have problems. No use in you saying you don't want to hear that. They told you what the problem was - not enough resources - so sticking your fingers in your ears, shouting "LA LA LA", and not wanting to listen, isn't going to make it any better. If you wouldn't upgrade then there was little they could do. The resources you use has little to do with the number of visitors. Yes, more visitors DOES equal more resources, but some sites are heavy on resources even with tiny visitor numbers depending upon coding efficiency and other factors. If you have resource issues with one provider then it's almost certain you'll have them with someone else. We have customers with badly written/badly optimized sites where 200 concurrent users would max out a server, whereas other customers with the same hardware specs could have 10 times that number of visitors and hardly be using any hardware resources at all. So you recognize you need more resources, but you're willing to go through the hassle of moving somewhere else with the potential downtime and problems that might cause? Why not give liquid web the opportunity to provide you with more resources? Sounds like they were doing their job as best they could with the resources you had and the sites you were running.
What happens when you have the same problem again due to lack of resources? You need to look at optimising your site and being able to scale without continuously moving. This will save you problems, but also time and money. Look at @digitalpoint's posts about what he did with this site.
Our websites are all optimized. As per liquidweb, the concurrent users are creating the load. Im going to get a CDN today for the asset files and then try to check fr next 2 days. Lets see. Im afraid, if they cant handle 100-200 users at once, then Im losing clients and money both.
You get what you pay for ($60 for a fully managed VPS is super cheap). It's not surprising the service sucks.
Not sure. And I contacted Rackspace, they said, they have plans starting from 500$. So, I have asked them to customize a plan for a budget within 200-250$ monthly for my requirements. Lets see, what they come up with. Thank you!
As per your requirement you do not need to invest such amount of money. If you are using WordPress you should try any managed wordpress hosting in same budget. As in $250 you can affrd business plan of WPengine whcih has capacity to handle 400,000 unique visitors (IP address), not page view if one visitor visits any number of page you will be charged same amount. They have highly optimised & the best speed sytem of wordpress. In dedicated system you have to do many things to handle same website, but in case of WPengine you only have to login into you WP dashboard to post your contents. So its upto you to decide which one is best for you. If you are not using WP there are also managed hosting for other CMS also you should try them not spend money for that you will not use ever.
Yeah you are absolutely right, if they want to do their best to negotiate with QubeSys Technologies ! and this is not possible in case of rackspace, according to my experience. Either they will give max 10-15% discount in case of annual payment or they will suggest to use pay as you go service.
Haha ! This is the best reply of this thread. Many time only server is not responsible for poor performance of a website. It can occurs due to lack of resources, not properly optimised & properly coded website, specially JS&CSS coding.
I must admit, I've been seeing a lot of negative reviews regarding LiquidWeb as of late. It's surprising, as I used to think highly of their service. That being said, as other members have mentioned it is important to ensure that your site is running as efficiently as possible. Regarding your requirements: They should be pretty easy to fulfill. What type of CPU are you looking for? What location (DC)?
RShosting.com can be good choice to look at. They provide compatible, fast and standard Dell Chasis hardware for dedicated server. You also have choice to choose location among UK and US.
