Contest Logo for planning company $30

Hi

Looking for a new logo for a UK based company called PDS Planning. The company provide architectural plans for loft conversions, building extenions etc and help clients with applications to local councils for planning permission. The logo should reflect this service.

I have no definite ideas about what I am looking for other than it needs to include the words "PDS Planning" and needs to use the colour #0000FF or a very similar blue.

1. Contest runs for 5 days
2. $30 to winner paid by PayPal as soon as winner is chosen
3. Please, no clip art or copyright images
4. Logo must be suitable for web and print
5. If no suitable logo is found, we reserve the right not to appoint a winner

sb_gemini - like the idea of the house (loft conversions, home extensions etc) but it needs to emphasise the "planning" side of things more, rather than the "building"

This is my first submission. I tried to put the theme into the logo but in a minimalistic and easy to understand sort of way.
The pencil is "planning" and drawing the house (loft conversions, home extensions etc). Hence, there is some space around the sides of the pencil, which leaves room for imagination.

Feedback would be great!

 

like your thinking cloudkid - like the icon and the thought process behind it but not keen on the wording. Looks kinda like a bit of an after thought. can you try some different layout/font?

Thanks for the fast feedback! I made some variations to the layout and the font, and I must say I agree. I think it fits better now. What do you think? Does the layout and change in fonts appeal to you more?

yep better but not so good for adding the logo to the header in a website. Can you please try the wording to the right again but with the word planning beneath the PDS as you have done here. Thanks

 

Okay, I tried to adjust to that. I gave you 3 options, font is variable but I displayed 3 other variations with different fonts.

thanks for all the entries so far. Some great efforts so far. My personal favourite at this time is leetsooc (sums up perfectly what the business is) although I'll need to get feedback from the client. Good job.
