PR0 -> PR5 will traffic increase from Search Engines?

Does getting out of the sandbox and having a PR ranking improve traffic from Google Search engine? I have a PR0 (sandboxed) that is still driving some good SE traffic (organic). I wonder how much PR ranking will improve traffic if any?

Just because you have a PR0 doesn't mean your still sandboxed.
No no no PR has no influence on rankings or traffic.

rankings in search engines has nothing to do with PR. PR is just like a bonus, if you already have a lot of good inbound links, you should rank well for your keywords, unless you are sandboxed.

I don't think you can rule the possibilty out alltogether. In theory, high PR sites are given some weighting because they have links to authorative sites. One way to increase authority is to increase PR. I am not saying thats the only or an important way, but it is a way.

The point is - Toolbar PR is a trailing indicator. If you are not seeing search engine traffic from Google improve today, going from a PR0 to PR5 (toolbar) tomorrow is going to make no difference.

Yeah I would. It is a proven fact PR does not effect rankings. Backlinks are a factor so authority backlinks will gain you better rankings but PR has nothing to do with that.

    Pride, selling links, bragging rights...

I've got lesser pr sites that beat the pants off of higher pr sites of mine for given keywords.

PR is nice, and a higher Pr site can hold more clout/power in the search engines. It however is not always the case.

People are saying 'backlinks help in search engine results' and also saying 'pr does not help with search engine results'.

    This is a contradiction.

PR is a measure of backlinks, so if high quality backlinks help with search engine results then if follows that a higher PR helps with search engine results. The difference is that PR does not cause the higher traffic, backlinks do.

The question should really be do backlinks help increase traffic from search engines? Answer is yes.

PR is not necessarily an indication of backlinks.

PR is an idication of backlinks... wtf? Except a lot of those backlinks could be images or "click here" which means you wouldnt get any serp changes.

I'll say it again, Page Rank is NOT necessarily an indication of backlinks.

Even your quote says as much, you're reading way into the explanation given there.

and also keep in mind that every site is not kept in sandbox.
PR5 somehow shows value of your webpage but it doesn't indicate any traffic value directly. :)

I do notice that the higher your PR, the more the bots visits you. So PR could help your site stay cached more often i suppose and help other pages linked to a page with higher to be indexed faster.
