I have seen that a few times here and there that an IP address is ranking - not the URL. Do you know why that happens? and how to solve this issue?
I think it's a redirection. It looks like the domain has been redirected to an IP. How to resolve? Find and remove the redirection rule.
I recently had a client with this problem, someone set up his WP site with the ip address as the "site address". I don't know if it was a human error or the hosting had bad settings when an auto install was done ? Google treated it as 2 different sites and indexed both the ip address and the url. Other search engines like Bing only indexed the url. I guess you could do a 301 redirct on the ip address and it should solve the problem.
I am seeing ip ranking too. I think it is because domain may be keyword stuffed and google prefer the ip address instead of domain.
When main domain on a shared hosting has a dedicated IP, sometimes the main domain can be accessible with both IP and URL. If a domain is on a shared IP, it's not possible unless there is a htaccess redirect to an IP.
You can access the site via ip address on most shared hosting it is the ip address /~ then the file extension.
Here step, Make sure IP is not redirecting some where else. Domain name should ping right server and DNS. Website opening correctly and robotx is setup perfectly. Go go Google Webmaster. Add IP address Verify IP addres, Request to change URL from IP to Domain. Verify that request and within 72 hours , Your URL will be available on google search result. I hope it will work. Thanks
That's correct. It's another issue for add-on domains in multi domain hosting. All the add-on domains can be accessible as folders of the main domain.
As far as I know this website runs on a dedicated server... PHPSOLUTION, thanks for the tip.. might work.
