They would not last long if every webmaster requested the removal of their sites as bad links.

Not, it's really not a matter of time. It's all about the competition, you survive if no one compete with you. Orkut existed till facebook came. and Google will survive till someone come up with another robust and smartest search engine (which appears to be impossible now). Till you come up with another search engine Google will become far ahead of the technologies you use at that moment. Even for now Google's technology is far ahead of our thoughts

Didn't Microsoft have the same "dipped their hands into a lot of different industries" thingy going on? Look at them now, they aren't even among the big 3 names any more. Its Apple, Google and Blackberry (well, blackberry for now) in the mobile industry. And both Mobile and Tablets are the future. Technology companies come and go, thats what makes technology awesome, the fact that there is always something new which replaces the old. I also wonder how long Facebook will last...

NEWS FLASH! Google is NOT the top dog anymore! Facebook is used much more that Google and had more daily traffic. As far as search engines go, yes Google is still number 1 but Bing/Yahoo have been making some major strides in the last 12 months, so watch out Google! You can count me in the multitude of people that WILL NOT shed one tear over Google's demise.

Google will not survive.. not how they are hammering down on the people who made them this big: You, me, the people on the street is who made them big. Becourse they offered great search results AND gave small businesses a chanche to compete with large multinationals.. Duckduckgo.com is a good new searchengine. Unfortunately not good enough yet. Bing is surprisingly good i find...
As soon as the little man and people on the street find out what kind of company Google really is they will dump them hard and switch to a better alternative..
Stop wasting your time on Google: they are not worth it.. There are other channels to get traffic from!

Agreed! So true! Google has stomped on the "little guy" trying to make a living and in so doing, they have made their seach results less relevant... and Nepotistic. Nepotistic you ask? Well yes... Have you noticed the great majority of top SERP rankings are awarded to Google Owned properties such as Youtube? There are over 50 other Video sites, but yet, they almost always include Youtube sites in the first or second page of any search... how can that be relevant or trust relevance?

I don't see Google falling anytime soon. Trends change, but what's to stop Google from adapting to the new trends? They certainly have the resources and talent to maneuver the search engine into any direction they wish. If a small startup ends up creating something better, Google has the means to acquire them and integrate them into their own company.

I see them staying on top of the search engine game for the forseeable future. Not because they're doing the best at it, but because of their ability to buy out or completely demolish the competition through their resources alone.

i don't think so Google is going to die in the next few years.
yahoo and bing can compete but Google will be at top.

Google integrates itself in almost everything so it will hardly decline any time soon. However it would be nice to see some healthy competition and other options, because I'm sure it's possible to have better searching & browsing experience, better email + other services on a decent level.

when we consider how internet developed

i don't see anyway google will die

it is not impossible for any company at the moment to crawl all the web and rank them

google and internet development are somewhat equal :D
