I just bought a new site on flippa the other day and the seller entered my adsense id into the website for me, i have checked this and it has been done. the seller told me i don't need to do anything in my adsense account as google will automatically see that the id has changed. Is this true? also if true how long does it take for google to make the changes in my account.. Thankyou
That is correct. The only potential problem that you could run into is that it is YOUR responsibility to make sure you only use your adsense code on sites that are guideline compliant. If the site is not, your account could face a ban.

I dont said its must 48 hours, i feel in 2 hours some other says that it them takes 24 hours. I mean that you wont cross the 48 hours limit. Try to understand. Mostly codes are tracked instant within first few impressions after placing ad codes. I think it will usually take 15-30 mins. Hope this helps.

While he contact the team they inform him 'there will be a delay of up to 48 hours before our servers are informed of the update and ads start running'. But the problem solved after 2 hours. Google continuous that 'However, it may take up to 24 hours to finalize clicks and impressions in your reports." I mean that, the full control of our account. I state the possibilities here. I never says it must takes 48 hours. Try to understand ....
Nope. If you change the adsnese code on a site to a different publisher ID, then Google will start crediting instantaneously ... ie in milliseconds ... it does not take 24 or 48 hrs - its happens immediately. The OP can confirm this. The clicks appearing in his adsense account will be first dated and timed from the instant that the pub-id was changed. The change in the code will be immediate, it's just like putting new ads so around 5 mins or less from when your code was put in.
