" NOT PROVIDED " - You will now find very less keywords in Google Analytic! Google has switched all searches over to encrypted searches using HTTPS. This means no more keyword data will be passed to site owners. I have noticed this happening becz of google's approach about ssl & privacy issues. This is gona be a bad phase for SEO experts. SEO's gold mine is now gona be vanished soon. You might have seen in Google analytic's many keywords are now like Not provided which is already a bad sign. But now you may see more than 70% of searches. When it becomes 100% what will happen? How can seo experts now be able to track KEYWORDS which bring traffic? Google’s sent this update: We want to provide SSL protection to as many users as we can, in as many regions as we can — we added non-signed-in Chrome omnibox searches earlier this year, and more recently other users who aren’t signed in. We’re going to continue expanding our use of SSL in our services because we believe it’s a good thing for users…. What I think is SSL encrypts and protects data in transit but it should be available as is (decrypted) to the destination / end user. Don't know how this is going to effect.
This information now you can see everywhere in various thread, as this is a big problem for SEO Experts and myself becz without KEYWORD's we can't play a better game. Adwords % is now gona rise!
Your best bet to know what keywords brings you good traffic is to look at the 'landing page' and see what keywords are ranking high for that page.
Noting will happen as such. Even if it happens we too will have different alternatives, SEO will work as effective as it is.. Cheers!!
First off, you can still check search queries in Google Webmaster Tools. Second, there are keyword trackers that scrape Google suggest.
Exactly. Anyway, who gives a damn if it's 100% or 0% not provided. Are the pages getting visits? Are they converting? Are they getting shared socially? And so on. There are so many other important metrics and aspects of a website.
SEO used to be a self-standing marketing discipline, having a well defined, generally accepted set of activities and objectives. No more. Today, SEO is much more intertwined with other marketing activities, making it difficult to know where SEO ends and where social media, for example, begins.Furthermore, recent developments at Google suggest that the search engine giant has embarked on a strategic campaign to change the nature of, and in many ways devalue, the practice of SEO.Taking all of this into account, I’m really beginning to wonder if SEO as we know it will be around in 2015. This post will review several of these developments, and suggest possible outcomes.
What you need to do is to optimize your keyword for first position in Google... for keyword research, or for those keywords which are being searched in your website, there are many tools, they may be paid as well. GMT is free.
Now there will be more of a "magic touch" to SEO. We will have to rely more on indirect data and intuition
By continuing natural SEO you can save yourselves a little bit. If targets are made based on keywords then experiencing problem will be natural as no data will be available in Google webmaster, but if you can change your mind a little bit with reader's perspective then it would be better like creating quality content that everybody would like to share-> interlink with Natural keywords -> Make perfect ON Page optimization with important keywords and be present in social network.
Webmaster tools is good but There's generally a 2-3 day lag in GWT data. It's generated from Google's side of the fence. It includes "(not provided)" and all other referral data lost to secured search (Android, iOS 6), so +1 for more accuracy! Google masks data in the form of buckets. They round exact data into pre-determined numbers making the available data less accurate than it could be, so -1 for less accuracy! Limited to the top 2,000 keywords the site received clicks for. But there are many things which needs to be shown, However i will come up with some insights more how to crack that NOT KEYWORD stuff. Coz KEYWORDS bring traffic and its an important source for SEO's you just can't ignore!
Doesn't seem that much of a problem to me. True, it has its advantages and disadvantages, pretty much like any method. We need to differentiate between being able to see which keyword we show up for or get clicks from, and which keywords we could show up for and get clicks from. If I were to choose between these 2 possibilities, I'd go for the latter. What about you?
