Hi, I have recently change my wordpress theme of my site. after changing i noticed in google webmaster my search impression dropped almost 80-90%. Also in my google analytic my search traffic is decrease almost 80%. my website is vividtimes.com. can anyone suggest me the solution how to restore my traffic
I don't think its because of wordpress them update. It may be possible that you website will be hitted by Google. Review you webmaster tool more carefully.
Just check out if the new theme is rendering the contents properly as did the old one like there are proper H1 and other tags and only one H1 per page etc. You can revert back to the old theme for some time just to verify if the changes were due to using the new theme.
May be simple Google Dance. Who knows! wait up to 2 weeks and see by yourself! after 1-2 weeks you will gain your traffic back.
I don't think so. Because by changing the theme it not affect in traffic but Yes if your meta details and other data changed then there are sure chances for decreasing in Ranking. So you must have to check first that your Meta details are same as before or its been changed. In addition you also have to check your H1 tag, Image ALT tags are as per algorithm or not.
I have clearly wrote that if your Metas and other imp SEO tags are changed then it will surely affect your ranking. You must be aware at which place you have made any changes. So if you have changed whole theme then there are sure chances of changing in Meta tags and other tags. So you can check it and then we can get final solution.
theme change are not a big problem for traffic but if you are use featured image for your post then please check all images many times if anybuddy change theme then these images are not shown.
