Desperate for a decent ad network

Hi there, I'm the owner and developer of 420chan Imageboards (420chan.org)

For years now I've been dicked around by various ad networks, rejected by many more, and I'm absolutely tired of it. On an average day we can easily push 2,000,000 ad impressions. We have a rather large, diverse, and dedicated community, of which I have the utmost level of respect, and conversely refuse to resort to various avenues of advertising like porn adverts, popunders, in-text ads, etc. This respect goes both ways, and we've been mostly funded by gracious donations for the past 8 years, covering our rather high operating costs.

I just want a decent CPM banner network that pays out, accepts our site, has a good fill rate, and doesn't end up with me putting my fist through a wall with millions of daily impressions earning a big fat $0. Seriously, this just drives me absolutely insane. I'm referring to Epom, specifically, with a 100% fill-rate, if anyone was wondering. Even with an awful eCPM like $0.03, we should be more than capable of pulling in a bare minimum of $2500 a month.

Please. Help.

you need to try it first. i am using it myself. your impressions almost same as my site. making 120 - 130 a day. 0.04-0.05 ecpm. better than nothing. this is the best i can see for warez site.

 

We aren't a warez site. There's no warez anywhere on our boards. There's 70~ boards, of which only three have adult content, and our largest ones are for WWE discussion and video games.

We're simply a diverse, intelligent, 18+ non-Porn forum/community.

CPA ads will fail miserably, we have a very tech-savvy userbase and nobody will install crapware, do surveys, etc from such ads. I find ads like that insulting, personally, and it goes back into the mutual respect our users and our staff have for each other.

 

why don't try tribal fusion, value click, adsense and many others? there are tons of ad network out there for legit sites

 

None of those networks accept us because we have adult and cannabis board segments. You know, like other large communities such as Reddit, Tumblr, Something Awful, etc.

The vast majority, like 90% of the boards are work-safe.

Adsense, Tribal Fusion, etc turned us down for almost every single prohibited item except for warez.

 

Have you tried, Infolinks, Chitika, Kontera, BuySellAds, AOL Advertising?

These are the current top ad networks that i have researched.

 

Alternatively just close down those other boards, or make them private locked down from public. And only allow special members to these boards.

You are right about the fact all the reputed networks will not accept your site. I would like to point out few things here..for ex. Your statement "18+ non-Porn forum/community.". Just checked some of the pages of your site and what i saw can be considered as a porn.

First network i would suggest is primiumCPM . They deal with few publishers with large number page views(like you). You talk to the admin and seal some deal for your self. Search DP for active thread.

You can even try out edomz. They don't accept adult sites but your site is not completely adult. talk to their online support and you might get some help . They have "direct link" which is a static link posted anywhere on your site. Person clicking on it will see an advertisement. I will call it Non-intrusive version of pop unders.

Qadabra should be another decent site to try out.. though not sure if they will accept you..

For long term, try to separate adult content from other stuff. if like 90% of the boards are work-safe then make it 100%. This way you will have access to better ad networks.

you should try Adversal + Madadsmedia + Pulsepoint.
these 3 are legit and honest networks. i'm sure that you will earn very big amount from these 3 networks.

edomz can be decent network you are looking for. Tell them your requirements and they should help you in finding a good advertiser who might be interested in your traffic. The support guys are realy very helpful and their feedback is prompt.

 

If you wanna make real money,you make your site comply with adsense rules.
There's NO ad network that will give you half the earnings you are gonna get with adsense. At least not by the set of rules you are pretending:
-targeted ads
-no in-text ads
-no pop-ups
-no porn
-no surveys

You are asking for adsense, i would heavily work on modifying the site to get approved by adsense while not annoying the users.
Maybe Move the no-adsense zones to another domain, and run adsense on the clean site.
I know it's a pain but it will worth in the end.

Would a simple hidden board not comply. Or even move the bad boards to a subdomain.

 

agree there is no network can offer you rate like adsense, that is fact and if you cannot use adsense you have to compromise with your earning, next thing you have to choose is whats your priority getting highest earning or showing decent virus, redirect free advertisers and depending on your priority choose network and see which one works good for you

edomz.com is my recommendation if you have worldwide traffic and if you want good support and clean add than you should reach to them.

 

Unfortunately, adsesense is still king when you're a publisher. Most ad networks have shitty to no pay or fill your site with popunders or malware banners.

 

try with a popunder from adcash.com , you can cap it to one popup/IP per 6 hours.
just give it a try for couple of days, most users dont mind seeing a popunder. they will understand you have to make some money too. you should bring like 100-200 usd / day
