Hi all, as we know after revealed of panda and penguin updates all search engine optimizer are on dialoma how to target their keywords/how to optimize for their domain. Can anybody explain how to start optimization post panda and penguin updates and mention the activities what they have adopted.
After last updates of Google, Google is required now Quality Content and High PR backlinks. Also if you are doing link building always do submission in Quality website which have High PR.
First, just to be clear. Quality and Shit contents can rank just the same. But of course, you should go for quality. For choosing a domain name, don't go for EMDs. Just choose a domain with part of the main keywords/topic is on it. Sample, if your keywords are "best dishwasher' and "dishwasher reviews". Choose a domain with the word dishwasher on it and add some words like 'list' or 'guide' or 'expert'. Those just pop out on my mind, you can think better words to add for dishwasher. Now, place your keywords on meta title. Sample: 'The Best Dishwasher Reviews 2013 | DishwasherList' . Also, place those 2 keywords on meta description. So it is optimized but no over optimized since domain name isn't an EMD. For offpage SEO: just try to get more links on High PR relevant sites. Be creative on how to do that. I feel lazy on explaining those. Now, be careful with anchor text. Don't get greedy with the sample main keywords "best dishwasher' and "dishwasher reviews". Also use synonyms like "top dishwasher" 'dishwasher ratings' blah blah just look up on google keyword planner for relevant keywords. DO some anchor txt using the urlS and some brand anchor text like The Best Dishwasher Reviews 2013 - www[dot]dishwasherlist[dot]com and so on. Plus, you should also link to inner pages and not just the homepage. And interlink relevant posts. And for some posts/pages, place outgoing links pointing to relevant authority site on your niche. gtg
It is NOT game over for SEO. You just don't do SEO yourself or you just keep failing to do it. And you are not alone, and now it is more easy to rank a site if keyword research is done right because it is left with websites ranking on a particular keyword with backlink profiles that are easy to beat.
ALl you need to do is stick with google guidlines and watch the video updates of matt cutts from google webmaster and you will be in save hands from panda and penguin. On every single updates website does get a tiny effect but if you are within their guidelines then you are going to popup again .
I don't think there is a way to stay on the safe side after Penguin and Panda. You should still be willing to take risks, because pretty much anything you do consciously to improve your rankings can be used against you. So, you either pretend you do it unconsciously/or it happens by itself. How well do can you pretend now? That depends on you. I'd be careful with anchor texts (check site backlinks and make sure you don't have too many keyword anchor texts - that'd be bad pretending), also I would make sure my website looks absolutely legit and not like an affiliate site/shady domain/link farm at a glance. Panda now has this magical ability to tell a nice site from a crappy one, and I don't know how it does that, but it does. Also, now is the time to be creative, innovative, different and flexible in SEO. Before was the time to be patient, monotonous, mechanical and massive.
The key to search engine success is to stop trying to trick the search engines with spun content and mass backlinking campaigns. Google keeps saying this again and again in their TOS how they will penalize site owners who participate in spammy on site and off site content/links. Just focus on producing a blog that is packed with really good, usable content aimed at actual human beings, not search engine bots. After all, what's the use of a blog that has barely illegible content, which ranks at number one spot on Google search for a popular keyword, if all the traffic that hits the home page just bounces right back?
