I use both, but prefer GoDaddy because there is plenty of discount codes all the time and also the buy sell section is most active there.

For just 1 domain, or a few, NameCheap is fine.

If you manage a lot of domains (like I do), GoDaddy is better. Their user interface is better.

You can get domain names at cheap price from Godaddy if you managed to find a good coupon code..

+1 for Namecheap. I've used them for years and no problems at all.

Another thing about godaddy is that you will find that everything is extra. If you host elsewhere you will find that it can take up to 24 hours to point to a different DNS. With namecheap you can change the DNS in minutes, typically less than 15 minutes.

I found godaddy reliable and purchaged domain from it which is running well, however i have not got opportunity to buy a domain name from namecheap uptil now. I would also try it in near future.

Well the main difference between godaddy and namecheap is that namecheap automatically registers your domain as private, with godaddy its public and you have to pay extra to change it to private. However, godaddy has many coupon sites, and you can register your domain pretty cheap. I used a coupon for godaddy domain reg last month, and my domain (.com) cost 3,00 € + free private status. So it's up to you, but I find godaddy better for business (reselling).

Its same with godaddy...its says 24h so you won't open support tickets after 1 hour. Its ussualy 10 minutes for me to change DNS or change domain accounts

I was using Godaddy firstly but then i moved on NameCheap because of the cheaper services. Depending on my experience i recommend Namecheap.

Oh yeah i must say, there is one site that i use at the moment and its probably the best one till now. Its called NetworkSolutions, services on this site cost almost nothing comparing to Godaddy and Namecheap.

    hi mate,

hqve you able to get refund for this automatic charge ? I also got this dilema right, they take money from my credit card without me knowing. For me this is purely stealing. I tried to reach out to them they just told me that i might have used my credit card to a different go daddy account, which is totally absurd.

It is one of the reasons why I decided to never shop at GoDaddy - for supporting SOPA.
Name.com is okay. Their customer service is helpful but they need to make some more improvements, though.

I use Cosmotown. Very friendly, cheapest prices, free whois privacy. I like that they don't raise prices to renew.

Between the two I'd go with Namecheap.com, I have been a happy costumer with them for 3 years now, They also offer some really saving coupons! I once bought a .com for $1.25 or so ;)
