NameCheap adding .biz to your cart watch out

    Hi fellow DP'ers. I buy a number of domains and for the past few days I noticed that somehow the .biz version of a domain I was buying was auto-magically added to my cart. I almost never buy .biz domains.
    The first few times I thought it was just me... nope - I checked - NameCheap is automagically adding the .biz version of domains to your shopping cart. Be sure to uncheck that.

    I am waiting to find out about a refund now - apparently 25 people ahead of me in "LiveChat"
    ------>
    Wow - that was actually really quick response. Apparently it's some odd promotion.
    So I asked if it was a scam or a promotion - she said no scam then ended chat promptly... Upon further checking and asking another live agent - I was told it is a promotion. So - it seems a promotion to give you the .biz for free for a year. Would have been nice to get a memo about that.

    Yeah, I dig, and it's what I'll do - but when you're busy picking up domains and then see something new is added to the mix.. well, welcome to the interwebs.

    If you use FireFox install the extension "Coupons at Checkout" when you click on the box where you should put the promo code at namecheap a list of all the working codes will fall down.Easy!

    I own quite a few with Namecheap. After the first 50 I got a discount code but they've changed things so that your account simply discounts your purchases automatically. You need to contact support and ask they change your account.

    For me, I guess that I only buy a couple of domains as I need them, so for me, it was made very clear in the shopping cart that it was free .biz and I believe you get them if you buy a .com or .org domain name.

    Even comes with free privacy. It is a pretty good deal, I would however prefer a straight up discount though.
