What tool are you using to generate keywords now that the google keyword tool is gone?

 

There is still a keyword tool, but it works differently. You can now drill down your business type more accurately. I tend to use a combination of keyword tools and my own intelligence/instinct in order to ensure that every possible phrase combination is covered (it's worth learning to use the CONCATENATE function in Excel if you don't already - it will save you a lot of time when creating extensive keyword lists!)

 

I have been going around telling everybody not to worry as if you sign up to adwords there is one built in called keyword planner. Also bing has one as well you can check out. If you're looking to pay for a high quality version you should look into market samurai.

Go to sitebildz.com. Register for a free account.

Go to the keyword research tool.

Enter your main keyword.

Let the software run it's diagnostics...it will return green keywords (easy to rank for) yellow keywords (can be ranked for with work) and red keyword (don't even bother).

Totally free and very easy to work.

Go wide with your keywords and create 100s of green keywords in an Excel sheet.

i think Google Keyword Tool is still working...

 

I reckon it is still useful as a free keyword research tool when you choose the second option Get search volume for list of keywords.
Enter the keywords and press the blue button which may be greyed lighter.
This is then grouped into one if you listed several different keywords.
Click the self made title to expand the collection again.
You should then be able to see searches per month on your keywords

As many of you mentioned correctly, Google is still offering a keyword tool but with less features than the previous one. Unfortunately it seems that to have a good keyword tool one has to pay.

It works but it's limited, we can't check the search volume for keywords in exact match anymore....

i think natural keywords are good to use for work
