I have created a social network for adults only. Its called grownupsbook(dot)com. I am looking for ways to spread the site. I believe it is a good idea for a social network because as a teacher, I know how being on social networks can be dangerous to your career. My students always end up finding me and pictures of me even if my profile is set on private. This site also adults for privacy from children, students, employees, younger co-workers, etc. I just dont know how to spread it! I NEED HELP PLEASEEEEE!
To be honest I think it will be more difficult for you to spread your website because of its nature (adult), but as everything, it's feasable. If you have the budget, what you could do is CPC Advertising (i.e Google AdWords) which will provide you instant traffic if you choose your keywords well and optimize your campaign(s).
Nothing on your signup page says what your site is all about. How would even anybody know before they sign up what they are signing up for? Give people some sort of a bait. I guess the bottom line is you need a better index page. If you don't take time to create a great looking index page, I don't think you're going to have much success. Just my personal opinion.
This is what I see: http://gyazo.com/2618f80782228f3f4b64b649fef54325.png As qwikad said, there is no information on what the website is for, you should add some more information on the front page.
Hi there you need more traffic to your website, you can try some of the following methods: - PPC (like google adwords, but there are lots of other PPC services) - paid traffic - Video Marketing (especially via YouTube) - here at Yahoo! Answers - do SEO - submit articles about your forum - Squidoo and Hubpages - Blog commenting - Forum posting - Craigslist - email marketing - Ad Swaps / Solo Ads - paid traffic If you want to learn more about those methods, you can download my free eBook. Thanks. Have a nice day.
Hi There, There are many ways to get you message out there. You could try solo ads, facebook ppc, articles, forum posting, and videos.
Like I said in my previous post unless you TAKE TIME to create a great looking index page, I don't think you're going to have much success. The changes you've made make no sense. It's actually made it look worse. Check out this site: http://www.tagged.com/ If you can make your index page look similar to it (obviously try not to copy anything or make it look exactly like theirs) you will be on the right track.
I would recommend you to do Social bookmarking or advertise your social website via some paid campaign.
Posting lots of fresh relevant content and then building a link or two to each piece will help. That way you will benefit from Google's freshness ranking factor giving you a temporary boost up the SERP's. If you get your keyword research right, then you might see some decent initial traffic. Also don't forget twitter. Use something like twellow to find relevant people to interact with.
