Hello, I was curious about Google's policies on placing ads on download pages. To be a little more specific, pages that focus around a download, usually with a short wait timer. Are those viable pages to put ads on, provided those ads are far enough away from the link / button itself? What is considered enough 'content' to be a page within the TOS? Here's an example: http://tropicraft.net/dl/ Anyway, is that alright or is there a chance my account would be disabled if I attempted it? Thanks in advance!
Well it looks like you can put Adsense ad there, but their policy is kind of weird sometimes. They can ban you for that without proper explanation, just because they're big enough to not worry about all publishers. Sad but true. Personally I wouldn't place their ads on download page, especially if I had serious amount of money in my account.
So long as the advertisement is placed 150px away from any clickable content you should be ok. You will also need an amount of text on the page, possibly something explaining the contents of the download, keep it about 100+ words to be safe, the more the merrier. Also, make sure that the download is not automatic, if it is then the ad is definitely not allowed on the page. Source: Employed as Adwords and Adsales Manager
They can ban you if you receive more clicks on that page,. Depends on CTR... try keep it less value..
I would suggest you go with 250x250 ad unit, Having cracks setups and other material that google doesn't allow you will get ban immediately. Don't worry about ctr if you don't do any tricks, please keep ads little far from downloading space, otherwise you may get ban for insisting clicks.
