Hey Termite, Depends on what the ebook is about. Books on all sorts of niches can be uploaded to Amazon Kindle and sold as ebooks. Millions are. Internet marketing products don't sell well on Kindle though. If you have a website, then you need to drive traffic to it to sell your ebook. If it is in the IM field then you can market it here on Digital Point - Marketplace - eBooks. Or warrior forum or jvzoo or clicksure.

I think Amazon is one of the best venues, and perhaps if your local bookstores offer online book, you could also sell through those local places. Any place where e-book sales are allowed you can sell them. It might seem like a waste of time to some people, but if you have something unique enough, it will sell.
Amazon is a great place to sell your ebook. You also want to add your ebook to your blog if you have one. When you join forums post a link to your ebook, and answer questions to help people. As you become more active in the forums, you will be able to send traffic to your blog. Good Luck
All the answers here are really good, termite. Like the name, btw. There is much to learn. Digital Point has some very helpful threads about starting out in selling your books. To sell it on your own website you will need hosting, a domain name and someway to create your website. A really easy alternative to make your own website is to use sites.google. Google it, oddly enough, and it is the easiest way online I know of to create webpages that rank well. You'll also need to know what keywords to target. You can use Google Keyword Tool to find some for free. An eye catching cover. Best of luck termite. Martin Oz

If you are looking to promote your ebook there are several methods you can use when promoting your site. Some are... - Forums - Blog commenting - Guest posting - Writing articles - SEO - Creating newsletters - Social Bookmarking - Blogging - Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest) The trick is to pick 2 methods you believe you would enjoy doing then stick to only those methods. Once you see results move to to 2 new methods. After you have tried every method discard the ones that are not producing results - and focus on the ones that are.
