Heh. Money easily could have been a factor, but that's the reason that everyone I knew said he was booted for, so I figured they might have read it somewhere. I hope I'm not just spreading an unfounded rumor. Then again, I dislike the new bond, but don't care enough about the changing of the bonds (which I can't likely do anything about) to do research into why it happened.
I saw it. Had a really cool start, an OK middle and the end half after the torture scene kind of sucked. Got the impression they were trying to figure out the best way to end it and couldnt quite get it right.
Know what you mean about the ending, kinda strange. My first thought was: "what! I was just getting into that!" Roll on Bond 22
Okay, but is that a Nickname, an actual Renaming, or that what one of the Hot bond women calls him after he introduces himself as "Bond, Kenith Bond"... since he doesn't seem to mind using half of his actual name as his cover identity half the time.
I saw it the day it came out, and I'll admit I was surprised that there only seemed to be about 10-15 minutes total worth of talking throughout the whole ~2 hour movie.
that's a pretty good talk to explosion ratio!!! what surprised me the most is that they did away with all the gadgets? Is that accurate?
Definitely not as many gadgets in this one. More real world stuff: bombs, guns, little microphones in ears, cool car, and James Bond using the net. Just the normal kinda stuff you'd get up to on a Saturday afternoon. And an impressive display of parkour.
Now I was under the impression, from the trailers, that this dealt with Bond earlier in his career than the other movies, due to the fact that he was not yet a double 0 agent. Is this accurate? If that is the case, a reduced number of gadgets would make sense, as he wouldn’t yet be a double 0, given access to the best of the United Kingdom’s resources. Also, if it was a movie made from one of the books earlier in the series, the gadgets may not have yet become a stock of the series, and they may have been trying to keep true to the plot line of the book.
We see pretty early on, actually before the credits roll, how he becomes a double O. I think it's just a more 'back to basics' Bond, where he much tougher and more like an SAS type spy.
Alright, so is that a flashback that shows how his earlier life affects the adventure? (Like we've never seen THAT in a bond movie) or is it something showing events immediately before the adventure?
Alright. So if he becomes a 00 right before the credits, and the main adventure follows shortly thereafter, then this must be early in Bond's career as a 00, right?
