Hey guys, I'm working on a pretty massive post of Traffic Generation techniques and was wondering if you guys had any extra tips/techniques I could add to my article? Current Techniques I'm using: Blog Comment Marketing Forum Post Marketing Guest Posting Q&A Sites (e.g. Yahoo Answers!) Social Networks (G+, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest etc..) If you guys have any other areas that I've missed, please feel free to drop me a suggestion (If it helps my articles, I'll even add a thank you in the post) Or, if you have some suggestions to add to my current techniques list (e.g. a bonus tip/trick) then please do! Thanks! Charles
concentrate more on on page Keywords matter and to rank those keyword .. follow up the off page Be strong with the on page
A few more traffic generating tips: - Make Youtube videos, add a good description and your backlink - Article marketing still works - Press releases - Optimize your content for the search engines - Buy targeted traffic - Use document sharing sites like slideshare and issuu - Get a list and send them emails
I have heard these type methods long ago, yes this will create some traffic but its not much. for get more traffic ptc will be useful.
lol.. banned. Thanks for the tips! I totally forget about the likes of YouTube and Slideshare (Silly me!) Will be adding a thank you note at the end of my post as well
Email marketing definitely belongs on your list. Email marketing is not only the best method of traffic that I personally use, but it's also something that snowballs. Keep promoting your list, and then when you create new content... Guess what? You can promote that content to your list. See the potential snowball effect? Email marketing can help build your blog, and blogging can help build your email list. Replace "blog" with just about anything. Just my $.02
Use social media especially Facebook but also put your blog on such sites as Delicious, Tumble and Reddit. If you are using Wordpress, you can use use a plugin like Digg or Shareaholic and this makes sharing a lot easier.
I suggest you to create videos and uploading them to YouTube! Don't forget to optimize videos for keywords which people are searching on Google and YouTube. I've really got great results from YouTube Marketing, especially in terms of conversions! Another great way is to do SEO work on your site. Optimize your blog post for keywords and promote every individual post. Google is probably the biggest traffic source for the majority of sites out there and that's why SEO is so important!
Great thread! Suppose that you've covered almost everything. The only thing I would like to add is mobile traffic. I'm sure that large part of your audience uses mobile devices. You should treat them correctly – have a mobile version of site, offer them some extra possibilities.
This is why I love fiverr. If you are not cormftable wiith getting in front of a cam then outsource your work to fiverr. pay someone to make a review video of you site and pay them 5$. upload to youtube.Rank your youtube videos with vagex views.Another paid alternative would be PPC traffic and there's a method that I have been using for a while now.Again go to fiverr and search for bing/yahoo adcenter vouchers. buy one and then open a adcenter account.redeem your 50/75 or 200 $ voucher that you bought for 5$ and use that to generate traffic to your site. You can buy more vouchers for adcenter that can be used in an account that already had a voucher redeemed just ask the seller and say its not a new account. thats 5 $ for 50$ worth of quality ppc traffic all the time everytime.
My tip here is to make sure you check the ROI of every activity - this way, you know where to spend your time and effort in the future.
Facebook works really well for us, we've several FB pages and they drive good traffic to our & our clients sites, Twitter's OK too. Social bookmarking works well too, writing blogs on Tumblr, Reddit, Wordpress etc Funnily enough Google isn't the biggest traffic source for us, Adwords hasn't been that great for us and advertising with Bing/Yahoo is a waste of money
Scoop.it and StumbleUpon can be another great source of traffic. They take a little bit of work, but I know some people who are using these sites to get visitors to their site. Don't forget to add your opt-in box to your site to collect the emails.
One good ad on craigslist can give you more traffic than Twitter, G+, FB combined. Why are people so partial to classifieds? That's where the real traffic is.
You might also try Social Bookmarking. I read a comment above about free reports. How does that help?
