Hi everyone, I had a great win the other day for one of my clients and thought I would share my experience here with everyone so that you might take some value from it. PLEASE NOTE: The purpose of this is not to brag. I was excited as it the first time I have done it and thought others may find the experience valuable. So a client of mine sells a a particular type of product where the manufacturer launches a new version of it every year. This year, one of the larger manufacturers announced they were doing something pretty interesting with their range of products and renaming it. I knew this was an opportunity to "launch hi-jack"! The product was announced on Thursday 18th of July. On the morning of Friday 19th July I bought the .net EMD domain. I got straight to work on building the site. I used WordPress as I wanted to get the site up and running as soon as possible. The main goal of the site was to get people subscribed to the mailing list to receive updated information on the new product and to arrange a viewing at my client's premises and to generate sales leads (collected through an email form). Within 4 hours I put the site together which consisted of around 12 pages detailing the product and its different ranges. Here is a breakdown of the setup I used: WordPress installation Magazine Basic Theme (free) setup full width with 1 sidebar and a custom header All in One SEO (free) titles and meta data all very targeted at keyword group Google XML Sitemaps (free) Disable comments (free) to remove comment boxes from "pages" Contact form 7 (free) to collect sales leads WP-TopBar (free) to create a drop down ribbon urging people to join email list MailChimp (free) to insert email list signup form TablePress (free) to display data about products in sortable table The permalinks were setup to show only page name which was heavily optimised for the keyword I was targeting for each page. Each page contains no more than 200-300 words with a keyword density of around 1%. 2 hours later I was ranking number 2 in Google for the main keyword which was the exact product name. I built 0 links and did not promote the site anywhere. The following day (and ever since) the site has ranked number 1 and actually outranks the manufacturer themselves. The site now generates around 100 visitors a day and has captured 7 quality leads and 35 email subscribers. Since this worked out so well for me I am looking at other niches and products that I can test it in. Has anyone else had any experience with FAST rankings and if so, how did you achieve them? If anyone has any questions about the process or if I missed something please ask - I will not share the keywords or domain so to protect my client. Josh
May I ask you how did you manage to get such a huge output in a short time. Is it just by installing those plugins or what. May I have the product name a.k.a KW
It wasn't really that much work. Just 4 hours of solid focus. I know the product very well myself and so was able to write all the content myself the data and images all came direct from the manufacturers marketing site. Sorry, but I am not willing to share the product or keywords.
Not an issue, but until there is a proof you can say that we can rank in just 4 hours. Of course I mentioned the same in one of the other threads here and I would like to mention the same again. One needs months of time to rank for the KW "Audi Car" but can rank easily in just 2 hours for the KW "outie Car". Here Audi and Outie both are same, but the difference is the keyword competition. And if your's is highly competition keyword then I bet you cannot rank in the first page of google in just 4 hours nor in 4 days. If so then I hope it is possible only by doing black hat SEO or by placing an ad in google.
I totally understand what you have said. This was a low competition keyword, in fact a brand new one. I wasn't claiming to have outranked big sites for an ultra competitive keyword. I made this post as I thought people who were looking to do some launch hi-jacking rankings may find this useful. I'm not trying to get in to a d**k measuring contest!
Oh! Thanks a lot for the clear information, it would have been better if you would have mentioned the same in the first post itself...
I don't know how many searches the keyword has as it is a new keyword. Based on my traffic so far I would say that it will have around 600 searches a month.
