Any plans for bad cookie alert system?

Noticed some sites using trackers such as tynt.

Any plans to install an alert system letting people know which cookies are potentially harmful or intrusive?

Probably not... I mean who would it alert? Do people really want alerts for sites they don't even visit just because it found something when spidering?

So you want to know when someone uses the tool to check a certain URL?

No. Let's say someone is using the tool to check on a url and it says 25 cookies. In many cases the cookies are justified (login etc.).

But in some cases they are 3rd party cookies used to track your internet activity and the companies responsible are often known to sell the information.

It would be a good idea to have some type of indication on top of just the amounts of cookies indicating when a website uses cookies which are not justified and alert the visitor that if they don't delete cookies, their activity may be tracked.

Yeah, but still not understanding when you want to be notified... you want to be notified when someone else checks a domain that has some sort of specific cookie you designate, or?

I was thinking of a notification, some sort of warning if you will, when someone spiders a site, and the cookies on it are either malware, trackers or anything of that questionable type of nature.

Well, I don't see us trying to figure out which of the millions of different cookies out there, which ones are shady and which ones aren't. Wouldn't even know how to go about making that determination on that scale.

wouldnt it be better if the antivirus could detect and block bad cookies to begin with? Perhaps there is something like this already out there. I would be happy if kaspersky blocked a page with a warning message (as it does for malicious/ virus websites now), but then again I have no idea on how many sites are using "bad cookies", and wouldnt really want to block the entire internet!

Mind you if there were more systems in place that actively blocked sites that had bad cookies, then the flow on effect would be that sites that start losing traffic / revenue will get rid of whatever is causing the problem.
