What is difference between Meta description or description?

Hello Friends,
I am confuse between meta description or description. So please tell me what difference between both.

 

A simply answer for the question is:
Description: What is shown in your listing on the directory pages.
Meta Description: What is shown in the search engine for your listing.

 

Yes, actually it's nearly the same things. Virtually both of them describes the site, but meta – for search engines.

Actually both are same,its not a major difference b/w them.but when you put the meta description in your site we does not change it but description is randomly change when you submit.e.g directory,bookmarking submition etc.

No difference in meta description or description we put description in every page when we do the on page.

 

A meta description appears on a Google search results page under the Page Title.Suppose you type SEO on google then you can see some bold query will be appear. hope you will get what is meta description,And description mostly like as meta description,hope you will get above

Search engines use meta description of the page in search engine results snippet, hence it is important to have unique meta description which entices the users to click on the results, meta description is expressing what exactly a page is about with in 150 to 160 characters for search engines to use it in search results to help users understand what exactly the page is about before clicking on the result.
