I've received 3 warnings in the past 2 days.

The first one was for me asking a question:

And before I get blasted for asking the exact same question, it wasn't the EXACT same question. It was partially the same question AND an additional question.

The other two were dumb mistakes on my part I suppose (replied to pm, blah blah) but were from two days ago, before the original warning (I think, can't tell now)

At this rate I'll be out of here in no time... Apparently it's not just me, someone PM'd me earlier asking did I "warn" them... As well as a few people in the thread I received my first warning for, some without merit as well

    [/End Rant]

So basically you got a warning for posting something that is only of interest to yourself and the thread starter and should have been asked in a PM...that's a no no and is clearly stated in the rules...what's your problem?

How is asking whether or not the service would sustain itself or require maintenance only relevant to me? I'm not the only person considering buying the guy's service

I just asked why YOU felt it was a self serving question? Obviously the rules have been made and infractions have been handed out but you quickly posted that the question wasn't relevant to anyone but me, I assumed you had some sort of reasoning behind it.

Well yeah the reason being, your question was to the thread starter so should have been sent in a PM, that's how i interpret the rules....obviously a mod thought the same hence the warning.

If the question could be asked through PM, use Personal/Private Message.
However, if you want to ask a question which may important to the others, write it on the thread.
    Example:
Thread: Cheap domain name for Digital Life Style.
Seller: I'm selling domain about Digital Life.
    You:
    1. I want to buy the domain
    2. I want to sell the same domain
    3. How much is the age of domain? I didn't see it in your sales thread above?
    4. I see great posts in that domain, will you give it to buyer too?
Carefully analyze the examples above. First and second questions will result in warning. Why?
    1. "I want to buy the domain" => A typical question which should be asked in PM. It only important for OP and Yourself. Will result in 'a Warning'
    2. "I want to sell the same domain" => Thread hijacking. It will result in warning and sometimes Ban. It is not wise to sell the same stuff on the other people's thread. Imagine what will happen if other did the same.
    3. "How much is the age of domain? I didn't see it in your sales thread above?" => This is good question. Sometimes seller didn't write it in the post for whatever reason. This question will not only important for you but also for the others as well.
    4. "I see great posts in that domain, will you give it to buyer too?" => Same as above. Seller should list all required information as much as possible so buyer would just buy the product/service.
Just remember, BST is not general thread. It's main function is for buying and selling. This may not important but I believe you should read it:
    1. Sometimes it is hard to think whether the question should be asked in PM or in the thread.
    2. Few people think a rule to ask question through PM is not good idea. In my opinion, asking through PM is the best idea. Specific question which add no value to other member should be asked personally. It will make the thread even cleaner and selling or buying goes smoother. Don't afraid to write in BST. Just make sure the question or opinion should be useful for others.
    3. Getting a warning is not big deal. I already got two and it make good souvenir in my profile. :D
      I'm kidding. :D
Just make sure to learn from it and tomorrow will be beautiful days for you. Guaranteed.
Many members receive warning. What make different is "While some peoples learn from it and avoid doing the same mistake, another people prefer to blame the system and doing the mistakes again".
    Arick.
For OP: let's think positive and learn from it.

    I suppose so Malky,
Just doesn't really make sense to me. If there are to be no questions asked to the OP in BST then why not just lock the thread after creation?

Good. Now move on. :) Mods are in no way happy to give out warnings. A warning is a warning, it means you should be more careful with the forum rules. It's going to expire. Most of us have been there! :D

I really have no issue with it, just didn't seem warranted as I felt the question was something anybody buying the service would want to know. Who wants to buy a service to rank a site, and not know how long it would last or whether it would require maintenance?

But to each his own I suppose, and in this case the mod felt it was irrelevant...

The point was to read the rules and don't be a cry baby when you get a warning. Many members get warnings and if everyone was posting a rant thread we would be overwhelmed. Move on.

And by the way, threads like this could get you another warning/infraction.

I believe other would understand the problem if you tell them what thread is it and what kind of message you were writing in the thread. Other may able to understand your feeling and give sympathy for you.

I'm writing the message in this thread because I'm willing to help you and feel your pain. By the way, I see you already get 3 warning. This has no relation with your thread but I should write it here. Ten warning will result in Ban. I believe you wouldn't get another warning again. Seven warning is too much for all good members in this forum.

Let's just smile and back to our activity. I see lots of peoples need our help to solve their problems. I always think if Mod give us one warning, It is the time to make them smile by collecting some likes. how? Simple, Just help the others. :)

I was thinking the same but I know Mod wouldn't do that. OP seems already understand the mistake and express the opinion. I believe Mod wouldn't punish OP. DP has great Mod that always take the best action based on the condition. :)

@Katy Why would this thread get me another warning? I thought this was the feedback forum, I posted asking for feedback... And lol no ones being a crybaby, I asked for feedback as to why it may have happened, and really name calling? We're all (presumably) adults here. Besides your post was moot as Malky had already suggested that, next time just like his post instead of reiterating what he's already said.
Everyone doesn't post a rant thread, so lets not talk hypotheticals...

@Arick unirow Yeah I read the warning/ban limit, thank you though. The thread was someone offering a ranking service claiming they could rank a site within a weeks time, the quoted post in my OP is what I asked and got warned for. I don't want sympathy just wanted feedback as to why I got warned for asking a question.

Sigh, I thought you were done ranting...... Because I was a mod here some time ago, so trust me I know what I'm talking about. I've seen hundreds of threads like this. Either way, I wasn't trying to insult you, I was just telling you that a warning is no big deal.

I don't think you are the one who should be telling me what to do. :)

I'm thinking that we have two different definitions of the word rant.
The first quote of your post was a genuine question...

And really? None of us should be telling anyone what to do (according to your own post), didn't stop you from telling me to go read the rules.

Besides it wasn't about the warning itself I just wanted clarification of why that post, as it seemed relevant. I could care less about the warning. Just looking for feedback in the feedback forum...
