Hi! This is Steve here. I love computers and the Internet and how they can be used to connect people and make theirs jobs easier. I have been writing software for over 30 years, creating many cool things like a realtime networked flight simulation, a personalized learning newspaper, a visual truck-tracking system, an HTML website generator, and custom UDP/IP protocols. My first job was fixing Apple ][ computers for a distributor. Currently I am building affiliate sites and a private blog network around investing. Ask me a question if you get stuck in any of these computer languages or technologies: Javascript Node.js AJAX Ruby on Rails C++ C HTML5 CSS3 HTTP MySQL PostgreSQL Amazon Web Services Thanks!
I couldn't help but noticing PHP isn't on that list... Anyhow, welcome to DP I hope you become an active and Established member Liam
Hi Steve, That is a massive amount of experience. Great to have you onboard. The learning newspaper sounds cool. Well, in fact, all those projects do. I look forward to seeing you around DigitalPoint.
Thanks Ryan! The reason I mentioned these is to give people ideas of what is possible. I feel I have a lot of experience and talent and I want to find more ways to help people using these.
Hi there, Is Steve the short name of Stephen? I am a bit confused In addition, had you experience in manipulating server/vps/hosting/cloud except programming/software? Welcome to the Top webmaster forum!
My Mom, brothers and sisters all call me Stephen. My friends call me Steve. I respond to either one. One thing I do not like is having my name spelled "Steven".
Helen, Hi. Steve is the short name of Stephen. I have experience setting up and maintaining virtual servers. Mostly in AWS. I currently and responsible for a system with 13 AWS EC2 instances.
English name is interesting! I personally like to call people by short name, especially the initial letter, for example, I might like to call Stephen, Steve as S, and I also like people to call me as H (Helen). But, will all/most people like others to call them as the initial letter of given name? or will I offend them if I do so?
I tried google to find the word to describe a person who owned all kinds of skills, google told me that was "Jack of all trades", is it correct?
Hi i am newbie on this forum and i want to say welcome all the members who newly join this forum. I hope you will share the valuable stuff of information with us. I am familiar with Html, CSS, Javascript, ajax, jquery, php.
H, That is an appropriate term that I don't mind being applied to me. However there is another expression: "Jack of all trades, master of none." I don't think that applies to me because for most of my "trades" (skills) I feel I have mastered. This is not to say I don't continue learning, because that is how one remains proficient.
