Oscar Directory is a premium web directory that has been providing a quality internet resource since 2008. Webmasters and business owners are welcome to suggest their web sites for inclusion. We charge a review fee for editorial effort and time involved. However, non commercial web sites are welcome to suggest their listings for free. Also, we are running a special offer on editorial review fee where you can benefit from 50% discount when using the coupon code: Oscar
If I were you I would be concerned about infringing on the Oscar trademark. As for the domain name alone, you probably could get away with using it in a non-infringing manner. But by virtue of using their logo (the Oscar statue) image in your header you virtually assure that your use (of the name Oscar and their logo) would be considered infringement on their aggressively protected marks. I would suggest change your header to at the very least remove the statue - like yesterday. ^^ is going to cause you problems. I am honestly surprised it has not yet done so.
Oscar is a name as well, and Oscar Directory has nothing to do with the other trademark. Although I have to agree about the logo, actually it has been designed by the template designer. And I will change it to something unique but not related to other trademarks. Thanks for making me aware about the logo.
Little to no content does not make a premium directory it make an empty directory script. To call it a directory requires a developed directory database.
Well, I do not hit the approve button easily, since your a directory owner, you should have an idea of the amount of useless submissions a directory can receive. I am not obligated to follow the standards of someone else. Thank you!
You can check it and see by yourself! You can keep your opinion for yourself! The main role of this section is not meant for open discussion , and I am not interested hearing your opinions.
Obviously I can't see how the directory is premium which is why I asked to see if I'm missing something. The directory doesn't have a unique template, most of its categories are empty, and doesn't have a good backlink portfolio. Also the 'About' page claims Oscar Directory to be one of the 'oldest and most modern directories'. 2008 is not old and unless modern has a new definition OscarDirectory.com doesn't qualify as modern. These are not opinions either; they're simple facts. When you post a thread on a forum it is indeed for discussion. A better approach would have been to post your directory and ask for feedback which most members here would be happy to give.
Good facts from your part, measuring premium according to template and back link portfolio! Congratulation on your standards. Your wrong this section is not meant for open discussions, there is other section for directory discussion. Why would I take a feed back from you! Honestly I do not need your feedback or standards.
Then why dont you shed some light on why you believe your directory is premium? You can't really argue content because most categories are empty and there are no description/content inside of them either.
