Well for one thing I'm wondering why you dislike this particular ambassador so much. Also, do you have any links to articles on this momentous bit of news?

I am not the only one who dislikes this guy, U.S. ambassador to the U.N., John Bolton, drew criticism from both Democrats and Republicans.

Links it is all over the net here is one from CNN
    http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/12/04/bolton.resigns/index.html

But does it really matter as he has contributed little, but brought in wholesale negatives from critics and guess what where is he heading now to the political wilderness

its a shame actually, I wish we had more hard nose people like in the UN. Then we wouldn't have all the corruption that was led by Kofi...

Bolton attempted to equalize the UN's only remaining mission...to condemn Israel for defending it's country. With all the corruption at the UN and even more being exposed every day, Bolton made it his mission to turn things around. It goes without saying that those who support this corruption and one-sided condemnations would want him gone.

I can't say I like the tricks that the PotUS used to get him into that office, or the reputation that article says he has on how he treated his subordinates, however if he was fighting corruption as you say GTech (pardon, have any links?) that is a major plus for the man in my opinion.

As for "Supplying false information" lying, and forgetting to list something that happened, when the set of replies to the questionnaire was probably 30 pages long, and partially prepared by subordinates is not something I judge a man for.

    LOL yup. :D

It's no real surprise too that Bolton is a member of PNAC (the dangerous neo-con think tank), along with Rumsfeld, Cheney, Perle and Wolfowitz.
Anything with Cheney and Rumsfeld involved in can only be bad news. :(

Thank you, AGS. My wife and I drove down to see our son graduate from Air Force basic training and spent a few days with him before he left for tech school. It was an honorable and remarkable event which renewed my strong beliefs in America ;)

It is also within the president's power to simply stick a bill in his drawer instead of returning it to congress, and wait for congress to reconvene with different members before letting them vote to get it past his non-veto veto. I also consider this a rather underhanded tactic, but then again, sometimes you really need that upper cut to get stuff done. *sigh*

I'm sorry. At this point I'm unsure whether the congress denied the appointment of this man, or just never got around to voting on it before the recess appointment was made, as the articles seem to disagree on this.
